Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

I’ve filed PayPal claims for my outstanding VMP orders. You don’t get to keep my money for months, not send out the products I ordered, not give proper updates, and be unresponsive to inquiries. I’m sorry, but this is not just a migration issue. They are having operations issues bigger than website migration.

Additionally, website migration doesn’t hinder their ability to have clear communication with their customers who they’ve essentially left in the dark. Nothing is stopping them from communicating. Being unresponsive is a deliberate action. So is turning off comments on Instagram and ignoring everyone on social media. They are aware and this is how they are choosing to deal with the situation. It doesn’t give me confidence in them as a company.
Yes and I'll add to this that it appears in many cases they're pushing refunds to old credit card numbers. I had four items refunded over the past several weeks, 2 that were new purchases went through, the other two that were from November never appeared, new card arrived early December... totally same number, just new expiry date. Shouldn't be an issue, but apparently is.

Actually, I'm going to submit this as my suggestion for the new VMP slogan:

VMP - Shouldn't Be An Issue, But Apparently Is

Yeah in refund emails it fails to mention to which payment method or any identifiers of sorts. All internal numbering and verbiage.

So they sent my November package to somewhere (they don’t event know) and refunded my purchase to who knows where.

You know what a fun part of this whole VMP shipping shit show has been? Trying to find my unfulfilled orders that are buried on my orders page and seeing past albums I've received from VMP I love and digging them out.

Like in March of 2017 I ordered Taj Mahal's Taj Mahal exclusive (for $19!). Love that album.

Or that I got The Beatles' Sgt. Peppers and Beyonce's Beyonce albums as a Swaps! Now those are truly Essential records!

Although, one has to figure the fact that the orders are not listed chronologically in the new system is part of the problem that results in me having two albums (one from early Nov, one from early Dec.) still listed as "Unfulfilled", yet people are already receiving exclusives they ordered last week. Is there no way to sort the unfulfilled list chronologically at the Saddle Creek warehouse?

Still waiting on over 20 records from November. Received probably my 7th or 8th email variation saying “hey we are still trying to get to the bottom of it all etc etc”. It comes across totally patronising. Is clearly a cut and paste job. Mentions no specific info and is completely misjudging the epic scale of the issue.
the email actually ends with them saying I should send THEM good vibes!?!

Wtf.

The email received today (Sunday) says.....

“As you've probably guessed by now, we've been completely slammed with requests like yours and we're answering each one in the order we got them. The issue you emailed us about, and your growing frustration, both matter more than anything else to us right now and we aren't going to rest until they've both been solved.

Just like you, we hope the next email you get from us is one saying everything is fixed and your records are on a truck that's speeding towards your home. In the meantime, please hang in there and send us good vibes. We're sending the same back to you 😊

<3 VMP

This might be the beginning of the end for VMP, they have to be hemorrhaging money. Losing customers, probably getting a ton of credit card charge-backs, sending out multiple records to people who didn't order them. It's honestly one of the worst mismanagement's I've seen in a while. This combined with the rising prices and other questionable choices they've been making, it's clear they have no clue how to run a business

Agreed. I think perhaps they are also in the process of selling the company or something bigger. There’s no way this kind of gross neglect can last.

Mad props for a Mr. Show reference.

I know everyone says it about their favorite sketch comedy shows but Mr. Show really is/was the best to ever do it. The audition sketch, the pre-taped call-in show, the method acting, rap: the musical.. just so much greatness. Not to mention what the people went onto..

Bob Odenkirk wrote for SNL, Conan and tonnes more as well as being in everything and now being Saul Goodman.

David Cross .. don't even think I have to mention what he's done.

Bill Odenkirk - wrote for Mr. Show before joining The Simpsons and Futurama as one of the head writers.

Scott Aukerman - did a bunch of stuff but is probably most well known now for comedy bang bang or whatever?

Paul F. Thompkins - been in everything and is also the voice of Mr. Peanut Butter

Tom Kenny - been in everything and is THE voice actor of his generation. You name a cartoon, he did the voices.

Mary Lynn Rasjkub - 24, Gail The Snail, and been everything else too.

Tenacious D also got their start via Mr. Show (you can see Kyle and Jack in the audience and Jack in a sketch or two)

Brian Poseihn - all around weirdo who is still around doing stuff.

Tool are also The Ronnies (the tribute band to Ronnie Dobbs)

edit: and I can't believe I left out Dino Stampalamapalampolous... one of the funniest comedy writers ever and maybe more well known as Starburns from Community?

Plus all the supporting characters who have gone onto stuff too..
