Black Friday RSD 2019

I get the feeling the price may fall later on, as currently it still hasn't sold on discogs at the prices it's being sold, and it's 13000 copies. So a lot of copies may be sitting around...
13,000 is A TON for a RSD release (or any). This thing will come down a lot.

It reminds me of Lost In Translation last year. 8000 copies got pressed, where are they? I have never seen any copy.

Probably sitting in the clearance section at some tiny record shops in the desert or outskirts of a small town.

It’s kind of wild where records can hide. I walked into a high end audio shop with a small vinyl section and found a brand new, sealed Fiona Apple - Idler Wheel LP for $17.98 in 2014 when they were out of print and going for $90+ used.

Talking about deals : Gray (2) - Shades Of...: 3xLP, Album, Ltd, RE For Sale | Discogs

I saw this today at my local in Paris for twice the price. I wish I was in the US right now.

But did you buy it?;)

I'm treating this like the Grateful Dead Warfield RSD release, I'll take my time. All of the Dead release got snapped up, and listed at super high prices right off the bat on ebay/discogs. It's now starting at around $30 to get on discogs, much more reasonable.

People are definitely not afraid to pay the premium on the PJ release. Maybe they’re not aware of the production numbers.
Also, over the years the whole PJ operation has turned their fan base into merchaholics (I’m addicted to merchahol!) who are just accustomed to the various Pearl Jam gewgaws that they want being sold out and subject to steep markups on the secondary market. You could try to explain that 13k is a lot of records, that Bull Moose warned us of shipping delays around the country, etc., but the notion that it sold out immediately and is going for 10x on eBay is consistent with their experience as Pearl Jam fans when they try to get a show poster or a tour t shirt or a Stone Gossard toilet brush.

For anyone on the lookout for Chuck Berry in London there is a guy selling a few copies on Discogs. Looks like retail pricing to me.

Srsly tho, you know where I can get one of Stone's old toilet brushes?

Just a heads up for everyone....there's a rumor that more Pearl Jam copies will begin circulating in the next week or two, so definitely avoid the inflated prices for now. I don't know how many or why, but I'd assume there was maybe a distribution issue (i.e. lost in the warehouse, since we've been seeing a lot of issues this entire year) or perhaps there was a manufacturing delay on part of the press. Either way, it looks like a decent amount of them will start trickling out soon.

Thank you, I'm sure a lot members appreciate the info/update :)

I’ll be hitting refresh on your website...

I gave up on this one, i'll grab it if and when it materializes, absolutely not paying out the nose for it.
I always heard a rumor of a standard black press with the original Bill Murray artwork was on the horizon but that has yet materialized. I have been amazed at how much the value of these has held. I imagined once the RSD buzz died down that they would settle in somewhere in the $40 range.
