Seeing Sylvan Esso backed by a full band was rad as hell.
Last night at Le Poisson Rouge in NYC, I caught Pigface up close and personal. A fakebook friend hooked me up with a VIP pass!
It was chaotic and loud!

@blissfullychaotic was right -- Kikagaku Moyo and Minami Deutsch were absolutely incredible last night. It was at one of my favourite venues and the sound mix was great throughout. Tons of energy and the crowd was a lot better than most Toronto crowds. Definitely go see them if they're coming through your city.

I love intimate venues like this! Looks like a ton of fun last night!
Through good fortune and the kindness of a stranger, I was able to catch the David Byrne American Utopia show in NYC. I kept my phone away most of the show, photos & video were not banned but it was kindly suggested that we keep it to a minimum. I only took a few.
I highly recommend it if you can get there before February when it closes.

Julia Jacklin is playing a sold out show at Neumos in Seattle tonight. I'm not going since I've already seen her a couple of times this year and there's a lot coming up, including Kikagaku Moyo w/Minami Deutch, and I can't go to everything. Anyway... here's a photo that I just got around to editing from when I saw her at Pickathon back in August

I saw Kishi Bashi last night at Omeara in London. What an eventful night! Firstly I was one of the first in the queue and managed to get to the very front. Tall Tall Trees was the warm up (and later part of Kishi's trio) and just superb, I had never heard of him before but was blown away but the sounds he was able to make with just 1 instrument! The main gig started and it was one just a perfect example of live shows done right. Got a high five from Kishi as he ran around the tiny stage and as he left to get ready for the acoustic encore (in the middle of the crowd) he told me to jump up on the stage to get a better view. So there I was standing on the stage overlooking all the crowd watching Kishi Bashi...unreal. Then at the end rather than push to get out I let the bulk of the crowd leave, and next thing Kishi pops out and gives me the set list, which he signs and calls the other 2 performers (Tall Tall Trees and Emily Hope Price) to get them to sign it. Brilliant night, im definitely going to see him again if he comes back to London next year!
