Metal!

My friend's band Idle Hands is on tour this fall. I'm not familiar with King Diamond - don't @ me - and Idle Hands are more of a mix of genres but their recent album is very solid. IDLE HANDS - Mana, LP | Vinyl | Music | Official Eisenwald North-America Webstore
Thought some of you might be interested if their coming to your town.

@Goatfish really liked the new one. I’m an Uncle Acid fan. King Diamond is pretty polarizing imo, some dig him, some don’t. Great lineup to be a part of that’s for sure.

Absolute monster of a release day today (the metal gods are smiling upon me on my bday!). My most anticipated:

1. Alcest - Spiritual Instinct
2. Mayhem - Daemon
3. Vastum - Orificial Purge
4. The Great Old Ones - Cosmicism
5. Cloak - The Burning Dawn
6. Runemagick - Into Desolate Realms

There's also a new Sunn 0))), Rings of Saturn, Fit For an Autopsy and of course a smattering of interesting black metal releases. CRAZY!

Read a review on Invisible Oranges that hyped this album released a couple weeks ago. I am LOVING it so far! This is some diabolically excellent Atmo Black. Check it my metal frandz.

The Great Old Ones - Cosmicism

Alright, I've been slowly expanding my exposure to the wider world of metal, and I'd like some recommendations from the resident metalheads.

I'm in my mid-30s, so I went to high school during the heyday of nu metal, and I guess I just didn't feel inclined to dig deeper. In recent years my love for post rock led me to enjoy stuff like Russian Circles and Deafheaven, which led me to things like Alcest, Møl, and Rolo Tomassi. Recently, I've gotten into some of the popular groups like Mastodon and Baroness, as well as Kylesa and Bask. At the same time I've been working on exploring the more well-known 80s stuff, including pre-Black Metallica.

I know I'm barely scratching the surface (and, as you can see, I haven't really ventured into the really heavy stuff), so where should I go next?
