My week in music

Breakdown
I again listened to a lot of music this week, so I go for the large tap. Of new releases I liked the Claud and Bodies of Water album.
The Sia album is okay too, though a lot worse than her recent studio albums in my opinion. The situation about the "Music" movie is quite disappointing, including her handling of the situation. But I try to seperate art from artist. Same goes for Marilyn Manson, whose music I love since the 90s. Even though I of course don't agree with what he allegedly has done in terms of abuse, I still enjoy his music a lot and listened to several of his albums this week.
Today with the help of my boyfriend I have cleaned about 30 records. I'm amazed what a big difference there is in many recordings. For instance Rina Sawayama sounds so good now, same for the colored Mariah Carey records I have, which sounded quite muddy before the cleaning.

Week 7 recap:

Breakdown
Got around to a few new releases, like before. Sun June's Somewhere was not mentioned much of anywhere on N&G and has creeped into my top5 for the year (recommended for dream pop, indie pop listeners). Tha God Fahim's short hip hop project Tha Wolf of Wall St. and the underground Maassai have also landed a spot in my top10 for now, and didn't at all expect to be rocked by the frenetic energy of Psychedelic Porn Crumpets' new LP. Although the new Madlib is on my Topsters, I'm thinking about taking it off as the flow of the album plus production seems disjointed to me. Not really caring for the Bodies of Water nor the Tele Novella LPs. Otherwise, some vinyl spins (including an excellent N&G RotM recently selected).

My week

Listened to alot but decided to return to just my top 9 for this. Outside of the grammy AOTY noms and the Challenge thread, I spent alot of time with St Vincent discography and more of the pop punk recs from before. Sorority Noise's "Art School Wannabe" has been on near constant repeat this week and I cant thank @TenderLovingKiller® enough for that recommendation

Breakdown
This week we had several day trips by car, to parks, castles and nice places in our area, so there was a lot of listening to music via streaming in the car.
I'm a bit behind with checking out this week's new releases, and also with the Challenge thread. I hope to catch up the next days.
Of new releases nothing.nowhere seems partly interesting, also The Hold Steady album and the slowthai record are quite good. Apart from that I've been listening to some favorites of this year like Still Corners, Aaron Frazer, Claud or Black Pistol Fire and some classics.

Week 8 recap:

Breakdown
Pulled a few from the ambient folder this past week, and with my newly acquired pair of Meze 99 Noir headphones for the primary purpose of work, it'll make for an easier listen amidst a noisy work environment. As for new releases...Mogwai's As the Love Continues felt like a run of the mill post-rock effort, not really noteworthy (though certainly not bad). Feeling indifferent to Claud, the first release on Phoebe Bridgers's record label. Snowpoet and Cassandra Jenkins, on the other hand? My goodness. Both are really intimate and lush singer-songwriter/art pop pieces. Thinking that they'll be in my top50 by year's end. To wrap up, some vinyl being spun to catch up the current month's challenge thread.
