Cake is surprising to see on that list, but great to see that people are still discovering them!

How about I just say, "Lots of Aussie music"?
Shacks
Gang of Youths
Daniel Norgren
Durand - and Colemine (of which I have turned many others onto)
Toulouse
Feist - this one should have been a no brainer, bc I am (was) mostly team no swaps, but I sort of passed over this one, even after @NathanRicaud build up of the album (if I recall, he mentioned how it reminded him of the Fall season). It has turned out to be one of my favorite ROTM's.

That one is totally VMP. I may hate the business but they have some folks who know good music.

Yeah true but I credit you because even at my most pro VMP i rarely bought blind, particularly with exclusives, and had a healthy distrust for elements of their curation. I’d never have even streamed it if you hadn’t convinced drunken stubborn joe to stop being such a stubborn mule.

Awesome thread. I'm terrible at lists, but I have a couple that come to mind.
- Comet is Coming, I never got the vinyl but this album gets a lot of play in my house. I did pick up the CD because the vinyl reviews were so poor.
- King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, this band I discovered from VMP/ the forum. I'll give the nod to Polygondwanaland because it gets the most play in my house.

Those are the first two that came to mind for me as well - except its Nonagon Infinity from King Gizzard that gets the most play.

I'd also add Lafayette Afro Rock Band - Malik to the list. There was a lot of hype when it came out as an exclusive, and totally worth it. Gets more spins than Soul Makossa for me.

Finally - while I just lurk on the Jazz threads, they've been invaluable in widening my horizons and knowing what to look/listen for.

My top 5 thanks to you fine folks:

Field Division - Reverie State
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Nonagon Infinity
Ordos - House of the Dead
Destroyer - Poison Season
Porn Crumpets - High Visceral

This is a fun thread! I'm not sure these are my top 5 but here are some artists I probably never ever would have discovered but for this amazing group of people:

The Radio Dept., Eluvium, Stars of the Lid, Dustin O'Halloran, and really all music of this ilk: @wokeupnew
Dream Wife, Shitkid, Agent Bla, and all of the Colonel's curated 12 months: @Colonel_Angus
Bayonne - @Aron
Loamlands and a ton of americana/country-esque stuff from @Lee Newman (Were you responsible for Valerie June entering my life?)
New discovery: Sigrid - @kvetcha
Metal!!!! - @Goatfish
Petite Meller - @Captainfog

I know I am missing a ton and will probably return to this list multiple times.
