It’s good. At first I was think the orchestra would be a little heavy handed and too European sounding, but they did a good job of matching the African sensibilities.

Haha! The last time I listened to him was on a hung over Saturday morning. It was a perfect diversion from the typical neurotic guilt and self doubt that occurs when the crash happens.

Here is an pitchfork review of the new Mdou Moctar album. It the typical review, but it was interesting to see that most of the money he makes goes back to charitable projects in Africa.

Anybody thinking coloured vinyl is a modern or even western thing, look at these really cool Sudanese records from the 70s that sadly went for so much on Ebay that I didn't even bid on them. Beautiful though...

All the previous versions were mastered by BG, perhaps even the same plates. I'm sure he had to re-cut this version to fit those extra tracks on 2 discs if that tracklist is correct.
