The River's Invitation: American Soul Music 1960 - 1973
The 8th release in this incredible series put out by Cairo Records. I randomly made a stop at Mississippi Records yesterday, and they had just added it to the floor. Eric told me I was literally the first one in the world to purchase it. Can't say that has ever happened before!
In any case, this one sounds amazing. A great 2xLP soul compilation of hits and deep cuts from the 60's and early 70's. It comes with a 28-page color booklet, with detailed information on each artist. All for $21. Just incredible value in this day and age of rising prices and gouging.
I've got all 8 releases at this point, a treasured part of the collection for sure.

Oh yeah, I bet you know a few of her songs and didn’t even realize it was her. “These Boots (Are Made For Walkin’)” seems like a fairly well known cut.

Norah Jones - The Fall (Analogue Productions edition)
This is probably my second favorite Norah Jones album, it's features some more upbeat songs compared to most of her other records. Young Blood is a jam, plus look at all the doggos having a good time!
