@Mather I went and ordered this after I saw your post. Always loved this album but put off getting it. Thanks!

Oh man, the presence on that pressing is something special. Like you're sitting in the church with them. I hope it doesn't disappoint!

Looks like everybody's shooting up tonight...

My collection #381-382

Peter Gabriel
Ogyatanaa - Obra Mu Asem

This is one of my favourite album covers. I spent a long time talking about it when I met Storm Thorgerson - apparently it was Storm's car and they just sprayed it with water from a hose and then manipulated each water droplet by hand on the resulting photo. Music is not bad either! And one of my favourite Ghanaian highlife albums even if the cover is utterly dull.

The agutierrezb 2019 record collection challenge

So I've decided to embark on my own personal challenge, which consists of listening every record in my collection before the end of the year. My record collection is not that big -only ~250-, but I still feel like there are a bunch of records I don't give enough attention to, while still adding more titles to my shelves.

For this reason I've set a couple of rules in order to play every record at least once before December 31st: I'll play at least one record a day, going from front to back in the way I have them sorted in my shelf. I can play a different record (i.e. Not the next one in alphabetical order) if I feel like listening to something else in any given moment, but at least one of the records I spin in the day has to be the LP in turn.

I didn't take pictures for the first two days, but I'll try to document the process from here on, so I'll be posting daily on this thread. Wish me luck!
#208: Pink Floyd - Wish you were here

#209: Pink Floyd - Animals

This album is my dog's favorite in my collection. On certain days it is my favorite Pink Floyd record too.

Queen ‎– The Show Must Go On (Parlophone, 1991 12" with Etching)
Queen ‎– I'm Going Slightly Mad (Parlophone, 1991 7" Picture Disc)
Queen ‎– Let Me Live (Parlophone, 1996 Fan Club Picture Disc)

Some random Queen oddities. Had these stacked away for years without ever thinking about them. I rarely play 7" unless I have a few stacked up. These were all bought for a few pence over the years at car boot sales.

We want the story!
So looking back it was now 10 years ago! But I saw Metric and Silversun Pickups play the launch party for some Droid phone at a small club in SF...Metric played first, awesome set. SSP come out and start playing, I noticed Metric watching the set so I walked up and just said "Hey guys, thought you were great...can I get a quick pic?" and Emily looked at me and snidely said "We're watching the band" and turned away.

I don't know why that's stuck with me for so long (maybe because all Canadians are supposed to be nice?) but it has. I've since met Stars a few times and they are indeed the nicest people on the face of the earth.
