I sincerely hope VMP lives up to their track record and finds a way to accidentally swap all of this person's swaps for Joey Dosik or Jaye Bartell, and then has to tell them that they're out of replacements.
 
Trying to decide between Holy Hive and Ivy Sole and a few others. Leaning towards Ivy Sole, just so I'm not losing money on the swap, since my 3-month is set to renew this month, and I think it will kick up to $27/month unless I get lucky.

1) does the Ivy Sole record actually look as cool as it looks in the store photos?
2) does anyone have strong feelings about Ofege "How Do You Feel?"

Other wild card options I don't have that I could maybe be talked into: Loretta Lynn, Little Simz, Laura Nyro, Erroll Garner, El-P, Stooges

$50 shipped for Blossom isn't a bad chance to take, if you want one.

I didn’t get steamy summer romantic tropical vibes as much as I got “Im in a really dark place and feel constantly tormented and I live in NYC and it’s grey cold and depressing af and this may end up feeling like a bad but good acid trip” vibes. Guess that’s the beauty of music though, that being said it’s my ROTY so far @JonnyH

I think Coal Miner’s Daughter is a much better album than Fist City! Coal Miner’s Daughter has that cabaret, charmful, lovesick Sound I really like. Fist City is very different, it just wasn’t for me! So I’d say you definitely need to pick up Coal Miner’s Daughter! 💎

I've said it many times, but Ivy Sole is one of the prettiest records in my collection (as is the Ivy Sole live album exclusive). Store photos of it are accurate.

As for your other choices, I love both Erroll Garner and El-P. Just yesterday I played them both back-to-back while working which... which was an interesting musical juxtaposition.

Whether it's allowed or not, people are just more likely to pay for something you have than something you don't. Listing it that way, and as a brand new listing, just indicates to me that these are copies he grabbed today. He doesn't want to frame it as a "pre-order" for an album which, as far as his target customers would know, has been out of print for quite a while now. A pre-order would tip them off to a repress, which could lead them to look into it.

Mmmmm yeah, it is mellow and sad and depressing, but I also get that summer, romantic, stripped back, tropical sound because when I close my eyes, the rich, indulgent sounds of the record takes me to a secluded island! QADIR, GODS DIRTY WORK, ALL THESE INSTRUMENTS and SEEING DOUBLE all have that intimate, nocturnal, tropical, romantic, rich sound! But half the other tracks on here, especially WTMMG, LET IT OUT and DRUM THING have that claustrophobic, rewind, trippy, dark, Lo-fi, stuck in a bad trip, kind of sound! 100%! You’re so right, that’s the beauty of music, we are interpret it in a unique way! 😇

WILL THIS MAKE ME GOOD is a gorgeous album and while it’s not one of my favourites of the year, it is really enjoyable to spin! Would be perfect to spin this album and lay down in bed hugging someone! 🧸
 
I saw a couple of people snag Blossom Dearie as a swap so I signed up for a Classics sub to swap for it. Blossom Dearie wasn’t available 🤨 so I swapped for Celia and Johnny a little earlier than I planned. Ah well.

So I have outstanding:

It was available for swap but "sold out" after an hour or so.

It is a full repress of Blossom, so my guess is that a limited number was put up for swaps with the idea being that it'll be in store next week for $34. I am sure they think they can sell a bunch at full retail and not just as swaps.
