Vinyl Me Please Anthology

I like Blues for Allah better than WotF and Terrapin as well. I am guessing there were licensing issues though that prevented them from including it perhaps.
I found this while I was looking for reviews of the box. Seems they may have had an idea on their picks back in 2017.

I'd have had Anthem over Terrapin too

You can still get the RSD box with Allah, Wake, Mars and Steal Your Face for about £60. Absolute bargain! They probably don't sound Mofi good but they sound plenty, plenty good to me.
I keep looking to pick this up but in Canada the only sellers here keep breaking up the box set to sell the titles individually.

Ok so where do I go from here? I have one more album to spin in the anthology. Music Direct doesn't charge until they ship right? So do I throw in an order for Blues for Allah? What about the other MoFi's available? Skull and Roses, In the Dark, and From the Mars Hotel?

Skull and Roses is fantastic but I'm partial to the 70/71 live era.

The Skulls and Roses MoFi may be my favorite canonical live Dead. It sounds fantastic.

In the Dark and From the Mars Hotel are about equal in my book. Very good studio albums. I'd say both are worth it.

Though the best exploration would be into full live shows. Cornell/Buffalo and the Fillmore West 69 shows are readily available and great.

Starting Without a Net now. Weird they have a different clown on disc 1 and 2 but then repeat the second one on disc 3.

Canonical?

Also, damn MoFi! $100 for skull and roses and $125 for in the dark

The live albums released during the bands lifetime that weren't archival releases. Live Dead, Skulls and Roses, Europe 72, Reckoning, Dead Set and Without A Net. You can throw Bears Choice and Steal Your Face in there if you wish.

The Skull and Roses is 2lp 33 rpm and retailed for $55-60 when it was readily available.
MoFi has done the whole MM thing now....they have certain releases at way higher prices. Skull and Roses is $100 at Music Direct now. The majority are not jacked up in price but there are a few that have been.

Mars Hotel is also available on backorder at moFi last I checked. They do not charge until they ship but you also get no heads up on when it ships. I just got some charges out of the blue and that's how I knew they shipped haha.

Skull and Roses is expensive on MoFi but still cheaper than discogs and brand new instead of used...ebay might provide some better luck for a used one if you check regularly.
