And brought a better phone/camera than I did.
All my spare cash goes into Vinyl and Tickets for shows.

Maybe its time to upgrade though.

I was on the floor on the left side of the venue. Was the Bass too high and her vocals too low in the mix where you were at - or was that b/c of where I was sitting?

I try to bring a pocket-sized point-and-shoot with me whenever venues allow but it's sometimes more trouble than it's worth when the occasional overzealous security guard notices it and hassles me about having a 'professional' (lol) camera while there's an entire row of people filming/live streaming the whole show on their phones.

It sounded fine where I was but, honestly, I was probably too enamored by the fact that this was the first live music I've heard in over a year and a half for me to notice anything of that sort.

I got to see Pop Evil At Elevation 27 a few weeks back. They had Joey Chicago from Devour The Day filling in on Bass. Blake then popped out to sing on Trenches and Waking Lions. All the singers of all the bands came out to sing Waking Lions as the end cap of the show.
Makes me wish Devour The Day was playing too…. Venue holds 600 MAX so it was a small show.
Leigh just got over being sick with Covid and the whole set felt very intimate. Got the set list and a guitar pic!!!

7th time seeing them and one of their best sets! What isn’t shown is they pulled out Monster You Made which has been “retired” from their shows.

Leigh even commented on IG to me that the show was super special.

A physical ticket in the post covid world???

I collect ticket stubs from shows I've been to and so far have only had e-tickets. Not even an option from Eventbrite shows for physical ticket.

Oh yeah as soon as I saw the option for a physical ticket I paid the extra for it. I always opt for the physical ticket!

I'm tempted to email my local venue to ask if they will consider that option again for shows. I wonder if it's just been easier/cheaper for them to not have them. I made a big deal about shows returning but now I look like 🤡

I collect hard tickets, too. When there is no option for one, I usually just take a screenshot of the e-ticket and print it so I have something physical.

Oh don’t know what “it” is exactly but this guy has “it”. The crowd was hanging on every song and whooping it up like I’ve rarely seen before. No hipsters just hanging around and ignoring the show. I’m talking rabid fans. The merch table was 4 people deep after the show. Fantastic.

The Black Crowes.

If they are coming to your town, get yourself to the gig.

This just might be the last, great American Rock & Roll Show.

I have heard her but since I was at the back of the room and she was sitting down for most of the gig I didn't really "see" her.

Anyway, first gig for 18 months was on Wednesday - Teenage Fanclub. Felt like I'd never been away. Got Nick Cave & Warren Ellis tonight.

We have pretty dumb mask rules over here. You have to wear a mask while watching the performance unless you are eating / drinking or dancing. So just go get yourself a drink and you can take your mask off - very strange.
