I don't feel like posting the whole list now, but I submitted mine off, some fun little trivia nuggets from it. My own rules limited it to one album per artist although side projects can be a second album if it was a distinct side project. I'll put it up once all the results go up as I'm curious to see if anyone matches my weirder choices.
  • Gender: 19 Female Artists (or all Female Groups), 17 Male Artists (or All Male Groups), and 14 Mixed Groups (or in one case, a DJ who heavily uses both genders as samples)
  • There is exactly one album by a "Buckley" on it...but it's not Jeff Buckley.
  • As far as I can tell, I don't think two of my Top 5 or four of my Top 10 artists have been posted in the thread at all to this point.
  • There is one 2020 album on the list.
  • My first six choices all have a dark black background, but only three other albums of the remaining 44 have that format
  • Like everyone else it seems I also have Pet Sounds in my Top 10
  • There's one comedy album, one Christmas album, one film soundtrack and one Broadway soundtrack in the Top 50.

Ok, this has no joke been one of the toughest things I've done in 2020 🤣

I don't think you guys noticed but I embarrassed myself earlier in the thread by doing the slow reveal 5 at a time. I wasn't true to my own tastes and ended up posting iconic artists/albums instead of leaning into what defined ME. As it got closer to the end I realized that I was missing some absolutely pivotal favorite albums and that some artists, while I like them very much, didn't belong on a list that embodied ME. I went back to the drawing board this last week and used a spreadsheet to visualize it all. I came up with a drastically different looking list that I feel truly represents me and my favorite albums. Here is the final list that I will be sending to @Woob_woob
Playlist of my favorite songs from each respective album:

Hello all! I've come to share my barely finished list! Before I began this, I said I would extend to two albums per artist, but finally went with one to show more bands I love.

Also I chucked some popular artists to the back, because I figured it would be in everyone's lists lol. I based this more on what I want to play regularly or what I used to play a lot too!

So.. up next, 50-46!

50.- Miles Davis "Kind Of Blue" 1959

49.- The Beatles "Rubber Soul" 1965

48.- Black Sabbath "Paranoid" 1970

47.- David Bowie "Blackstar" 2016

46.- Boston "Boston" 1976

Continuing with 45-41!

45.- Gorillaz "Humanz" 2017

44.- Flobots "Fight With Tools" 2008

43.- Asian Kung-fu Generation "Sol-fa" 2004

42.- Remioromen "Ether" 2005

41.- Husking Bee "variandante" 2004

I love that you included Let’s Go by Rancid. Such a great record.

I felt like it it was cheating because I committed to one artist representation, but I think there is enough separation between Op Ivy and Rancid to warrant their own spots.

There’s no way I could have limited it to one album per artist, so kudos. Weird, but I never cared for Op Ivy myself.

Oh man, it embodies everything punk means to me. Messages of unity combined with establishment rebellion, lessons in hope and despair, and all delivered with some weird sort of mix of hardcore gritty angst and groovy Specials-esque ska rhythm grooves.... I can, and have, listened to it on repeat for hours upon hours. Man, I wish I was old enough to attend some of those infamous Gilman St. Shows!
