guess who's seeing kendra tonight (then has to get up at 5am for a 13 hour shift)?

what a show. kendra had the audience dead silent and mesmerized during a quiet new song called 'after midnight'. her band is different for this tour and they sound like they've been comfortable together for years. the new album songs sounded even better.

also, the two local openers i'd not seen/heard of before were incredible, and give me hope for the youth of today. root3 is a young bass/keyboard/drums jazz fusion trio, and dilly dally alley is some neo-soul/r&b/jazz/classical hodgepodge fronted by a young lady that projects a wonderfully positive confidence and would fit right in the colemine/karma chief stable. it was a full night of great music.

I feel kinda bummed. According to Kendra's website, she was suppose to play at a local hole-in-the-wall bar, but ultimately did not. I admit this particular bar is not very well run, nor known for hosting shows. They did not offer ticket sales like all the other venues listed on her website, either. I went to check it out anyway, but no show unfortunately. Only positive for the night was the $3 16oz PBR.

This was on her Instagram yesterday morning, not sure what the deal is
