Fresh Grabs

Only the most anticipated album for the later half of the year. So excited.

Came late and after I spent the majority of the day spinning.
Pretty jealous you have this on vinyl! Just downloaded it from Bandcamp, great record. Probably like it more than Future Islands. I am here for early-2000s Anticon throwback.

Need to get this, the only Slowdive I don’t have on vinyl. Very much want the new colour vinyl pressing but my local only seems to have the black vinyl. How does it sound?

I’ve read mixed things about the quality of the Mark Hollis pressing. I’d like it but given the nature of the music I may be happiest sticking with the CD.

My copy of Tindersticks arrived yesterday. Listened to it twice tonight, it’s good. Quite low key.

Brian Eno - ‘Music For Installations’

Looks like Universal may have been a bit over optimistic in their pressing numbers for this set as it’s started to turn up cheap - Norman Records have it listed as 75% off original price, down to just over £40, while my local had a couple of copies at £44.99. Loyalty points got that down to about £37.50. Just need time to listen to it!

Actually picked up a few things recently but super stoked about this one in particular

It sounds beautiful and so glad to finally have XYZ on vinyl

Some other overdue things that I've meant to pick up for a while now...

Favorite local shop had its 23rd anniversary today. Everything was 23% off! Picked a few goodies. Especially happy for the early Dolly that looks unplayed, still in original shrink! Shatner and Lush were in the dollar crates.

The signed Sinéad CD was an eBay buy. First autographed item I bought for the sig.

I really enjoyed looking around! I love my store back home in Virginia Beach, but this place gave me the feeling of being back home.
Cactus is a nice record store experience but do yourself a favor and hit Vinal Edge before you leave H-town, especially if you enjoy non-mainstream genres. Enjoy your stay!
