Best Vinyl Youtube Channels

what about a Utuber that specializes in vinyl hiphop ? id be keen for one of them

I talk a loooootttttt about hip hop on my channel. To the point where it might be alienating.

Well, just comparing your top videos vs his, it's clear that his have gotten traction because his videos appear to be editorialized — his branding is quite holistic and that comes across clearly, from the Buzzfeed-inspired color scheme to the direct video titles (10 Record Player Mistakes, TOOL: Top 10 Facts). Once you watch his videos you realize it's kind of a grift, as they're not the well-researched guide videos you'd find on channels run by a network of professional writers/editors.

Notice how his thumbnails are centred around the video's premise, whereas yours is more consistent of someone who's a vlogger/influencer. That's not a bad thing, since that's how the majority of YouTubers go about with building their brand. At the same time, I think it's also a hindrance if you're looking to build an audience on the level of Vinyl Eyezz, or even bigger, since the image you project now is something of a hobbyist, and it communicates something that casual viewers may not be interested on clicking.

I've noticed this, and you put it into words quite well. Thank you.

I think where VinylEyezz has it is in two places.
1) his content is more broadly based ie. how to get started in the hobby, what gear is cheap but usable etc. That’s how I found his channel anyway. Those videos are short and his delivery is quite straightforward. It’s ultimately a bit shallow though. I’d be interested in how his subscribers translates to views versus a channel like yours.
2) his lighting. I think this issomething I could say about nearly every vinyl channel there is out there. The lighting on the content is so dark, often in dark painted rooms. Vinyl is such a physical hobby as in we like to see and touch beauty. Look at any of the wildly successful tech channels. Their success is predicated on the ability to make the products look AMAZING. It’s a big outlay I know to take a chance on but it’s something I’ve thought about doing myself as there’s a gap in the market for showing just how beautiful some of these vinyl packages are.

I really like the free form content of the unboxing live-streams (plus it times well with my borderline insomnia here in Ireland) but unboxing should show off the product better. Only other thing I’d say (and this applies to just about every vinyl YouTube) is less is more. If showing some records I want to see what you like about the album and or the artist and not that you just picked it up to throw in s collection. We all use these vids for discovery so 2 or 3 are ones I can look up and explore but once it goes beyond that it becomes too much distraction.

Good luck and I really appreciate the effort and content. 👍

1) Yeah, I haven't done as many tutorials and that could definitely be a huge reason. I still am mindblown that there are 100k vinyl fans on youtube that seem to have no idea my channel exists, though.

2) You're 100% right. I'm in the process of moving to NYC and I'm going to focus on improving my lighting set-up when I get settled. New location, new style, and this could be the perfect change.

And noted, about the unboxing stuff. This is all really awesome feedback.

The video quality looks great. The audio is decent.
All in all I like your presentation (besides how you wear your hat lol)
Is that kanye pressing really that rare damn.

Also chuck up your top 10 fav hiphop vinyl albums. I think you mentioned it in this video but I didnt see it.

I'd love to throw my hat into the ring. Been at it since 2015 on a regular basis, and I'm super proud of the community we've built over at TMR.

If you haven't checked out my content, feel free to check 'em out and give me a subscribe if you dig it! I have hundreds of videos about all aspects of vinyl, focusing on collecting and music recommendations. And I do a fair amount of giveaways :)

Welcome..........I wish I could have made it out to your sale ;)

Second with @AndySlash

VinylRewind is pretty much the only YouTube related vinyl dude I watch. I find his Docu-Series on albums really informative, and well made. He just did a whole series on The Wall, which made me appreciate it more! Sometimes I'll watch TooManyRecords, but I find his habit... Borderline unhealthy.. Lol. Basically buys every varient of every new release. Not entirely into that type of stuff.

Unhealthy? You sir are banned 3 months! Lol J/K but really i’m Going to modify a Batman quote and say Crate Diggers are a Strange and superstitious lot. I couldn’t tell you what drives me to buy what I buy or why. The only reason I can’t watch that guy too often is he’ll get hauls that are ridiculous....He’ll get a mint copy of Dexter Gordon “Go” And sometimes two and I’m like WTF?! I only will find MARIO Lanza or Jim Neighbors around here in Georgia. Lol I guess it’s a bit of professional jealousy, Or Collectors envy.

I’m also not a fan of “Top 5 Rarest Whatever” videos. All that does is drive the price up on a particular whatever you are after.

Another thing I dislike and is one of VE favorite schticks, is the continuous bashing of Crosley.
It’s a dead horse already. He also likes to use the hot word “Audiophile” and I’m confident that he doesn’t know what that means.

One thing I wonder about are the channels that have high subscription numbers but only have a fraction of views per video. Like Channel A has 50,000 subs but only 800 views on their latest video. Seems a bit misleading.

Also, I love the Amoeba Records What's in My Bag? videos. Some really good stuff in there.
I'm probably most excited to see a new video from What's in my Bag over anything else I subscribe to. Really well put together with song samples and associated pics/vidsnippets. I almost always add albums to my Spotify queue afree each video as well.

more of those videos to come when i'm situated at my new spot in NYC!
i know a ton of games that would be AMAZING to be reissued.. im thinking the queer horror visual novel we know the devil would be great for a dark ambient soundtrack. or maybe even the funny music of hot dad in hypnospace outlaws

I’m obsessed by the first Liars album and Violence Violence by Ceremony purely because Interpol and Mitski recommended them on these shows. It’s so cool seeing what people love.

I can't help but notice that no one said "The Needle Drop" with that Fantano guy yet.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. I just can't with him.
