Cross post from the Pre-order thread. News on a Silvana Estrada vinyl release:

Not a preorder per se, but Silvana Estrada shared the test pressing of her album "Marchita" on her IG stories, which is the first notice of the record getting a vinyl release. The test pressing had an RTI label, so I assume that is where the pressing will be done, which is great news. I just hope the mastering is quality too, because such an intimate and nuanced sounding album could sound amazing on vinyl if done properly.

I keep returning to the new Gang Of Youths and think it's one of the best of the year now, easily. But tonight I decided to spin Go Farther In Lightness. And damn this thing just pummels you with great song after great song. So, the new one is great, but GFIL is still the best. It's an incredible listen


Also Denzel Curry's Melt My Eyez, See Your Future is one I keep listening to. I think it's his best yet. The production is diverse, but it casts this overall feeling that just hits. And his flow is phenomenal. I can't get enough. It's like a whole piece of work too, not just good standalone songs.

Just trying to keep track of my list of GREAT albums from this year. And there are still more I'm so excited for. This year bests the past few already very easily.

Gang Of Youths feel like they should be this generations Coldplay or U2 and I don’t mean that as an insult. Those bands were big anthemic sincere stadium rock bands but since no one listens to Rock music like that anymore it feels like they will never rise to the level of cultural ubiquity that those aforementioned groups enjoyed. Selfishly, I kinda like that they will never rise to the level because it means I won’t have slowly grow sick of their music being played endlessly forever all the time.

I listened to this one again today after not listening to it for like a month. It's still just okay. I picked up on more of the lyrics and it's EXTREMELY personal, I don't know if that made me not like it that much? but it felt very confessional and not what I had come to expect with GFIL. Obviously there's a few bangers but the energy overall on the album is much more solemn and introspective. I wish there were a few more full rock anthems singing about "heart-on-your sleeve" topics like GFIL had. See "The Heart Is a Muscle", "Atlas Drowned", "The Deepest Sighs, the Frankest Shadows" etc.
