@Sanders if it's any consolation, I only like new lana marginally better than the new tool. lana probably a 9.2/10 and tool a flat 9/10

@tonythegamer - because you said not to.

Also, I agree. But I don't like tool.

How can you even compare the two? One is progressive metal and the other is Indie pop lol

@Hollywood I'm just stuck wondering what timeline this is to where I enjoy indie pop over progressive metal.

To be honest @tonythegamer I agree without listening to either of them because unless tool have completely changed everything about themselves I don’t like them...

To people in general what is the reasoned opinion on the new Lana? I’ve read three or four different reviews and I’m getting either Lana makes the same album again and it sounds the same or Lana makes the same album again but has perfected her style this time. My major criticism, and why I dropped out at album 2, was that it all sounded the same and had the same cast of characters...

@Joe Mac I couldn't tell you in relation to her last albums because I haven't listened to them. This was my first lana album, but I gotta say I was impressed with what I heard her bring to the table on the new album.

I'm with @tonythegamer - I haven't been a huge LDR fan. But Dukey's praise of it led me to listen. And I do really like this new album. It also seems to be a full album instead of just a bunch of singles.

Fair enough. I enjoyed the debut a lot, the EP was both decent and ridiculous at the same time and with the second album I felt like I was listening to the same thing again but with less appealing versions of the same characters. Had it not been for all the hullabaloo I probably would have let this one slide by like the last one or two...

You called

I liked nfr because it was well produced, had some heartbreaking moments, and was sequenced amazingly so I never felt bothered by the length..

I mean I was probably secretly a Lana fan before but never tried her music so this album was impressive

The average Pitchfork reader (on facebook) is the worst. Just look at the comments of a Taylor Swift reviewed album vs. a Lana reviewed album. They're both effing pop albums, where at times Lana sounds exactly the same at Taylor, yet you'd think it's the end of the world that p4k is giving Taylor the time of day (let alone a good score).

Taylor Swift hate for the sake of hate is very tiresome.

Then people compare the scores across genres as if that is what p4k is grading them against. "omfg you gave Lateralus this score but Taylor this score?" Chill, my keyboard warrior, I don't think they are comparing Swifty to your precious neckbeard band, but rather comparing it to how it has influenced the pop landscape and how she has grown as a songwriter in comparison to her entire catalog.

I love you, MFMD. Keyboard warrior and precious neckbeard band. Lol

@Teeeee I'm just not the biggest fan of T Swift either though. I will admit that I did like the song "Lover" off her latest album. Hated Me! though

I get that people are not her fan because they don't like her music. Totally fine. But piling on the hate just because she's Taylor without having listened to her albums is what I'm talking about.
