@Sonicpharmacist LM was a transition album, and the first album since the band reformed in 2010 to be "Michael Gira and others" (the previous 2010s albums all featured the same lineup). I, too, am hoping this new album is an improvement on LM, but in the sense that LM was a new foundation for Swans to build on (like 2010's MFWGMuaRttS was the foundation for Swans' brilliant 3 records following).
That's a good point about the transition, hadn't considered that. I always thought of LM as a "farewell" of sorts, since Gira said that he would be ending that incarnation of Swans. Regardless, I preordered way back when they had the "Is There Really A Mind" handmade CD, so I'm in anyways!
I'd say it's not as bad as you'd think but I've already been here for it, I mean, what's a 44-minute track amongst 30-mins, not to mention "The Knot" or "Look At Me Go." HMU if you'd like any advice I guess.
@musicjunkiegreg It's not unexpected from them, more of an excitement that we get another that long! I think I'm in the minority in loving long ass albums,
