And for those of us here who aren’t coffee snobs I give you:

Then again, I drink Pabst Light beer @17.99 a 30 pack. Stopped drinking Keystone Light when I found out that William Coors is on the board of the Heritage foundation. Fuck that shit.

You're not missing out on anything awesome. 😉

And you really are not missing anything with Keystone Lights.😬

I just started drinking coffee in the last couple of years so I’m an indifferent newbie with no desire to expand my tastes. Folgers is fine. Beer? Been drinking it for 55 years and just don’t care for the hoopla and “craft” that makes up today’s market. Definitely not interested in the $14.99 a sixer type stuff. Like coffee, the buzz is the bottom line with beer too. How else would I be able to afford expensive audio gear? 😜

Coffee is a lot like pepper.
You can easily get by with the paper packets but when you get the taste of freshly ground pepper, there's no going back.

I drink cheap light beer all the time. It's always cold and ready in the garage fridge.
Pabst is buck fiddy at Applebee's and I always go for it with a cheeseburger lunch.
But sometimes I change it up. I like options it seems.

I have a crazy ninja drip machine and a burr grinder. I really only use Charleston Coffee Roasters Signature Blend. I like espressos and lattes and cappuccinos and what not but nothing is as good as a nice robust bean ground perfectly and brewed well. If I didn’t also make coffee for my wife, I might do pour overs which I think is a more superior brewing method. I should get back in the habit of using our French press on the weekends.

One thing is for sure, if I put sugar and cream in it, I think the coffee sucks.

Oh, I’ll get a six pack of Negra Modelo or Heineken or Becks to mix in once in a while. Ground pepper is a mainstay in our kitchen as is ground sea salt. Suz is the chef while I’m the prep cook. I’ve learned a lot from her in the 48 years we’ve been together.

I’ve been enjoying bourbon a bit more than Scotch lately, but that tends to go back and forth. My current go to brand for bourbon is Penelope. I’ve liked every one of theirs that I’be tried, and their barrel proof is excellent in an Old Fashioned (most I drink neat). Also for Old Fashioned New Riff Barrel Proof. My wife got me a bottle of Widow Jane Decadence for our anniversary and I can’t recommend it enough, absolutely delicious. Widow Jane 10 year is a solid choice as well, if you decant it the mineral tones come forward nicely.

As for coffee, I drank Folgers for 30-something years, then had a Nespresso, and now am looking for a bean brand but am having fun trying out different kinds.

While I really like bourbon and coffee, “bourbon flavored coffee” and “coffee infused bourbon” are both bastard children of Satan’s hemorrhoids and should be banned from this plane of existence.

Flavored coffee as a general rule is disgusting. But yeah, makers of bourbon flavored coffee have a special place in Hell.

I did have a coffee where the beans were aged in a rum barrel and it was fantastic. But the fake flavoring is foul.

I miss drinking out of my French press everyday, but like you I switched because of the wife. I like our machine well enough, but it's not as good.
