New Music Friday!

I haven't gotten to it yet; this makes me even more curious now.
I won't say more for now. I can't decide if it's weird or I'm old. I asked my daughter to let me know what she thinks. I'll be curious what everyone thinks of it. It's not bad, just weird. In fact there are two songs near the end that will probably be songs I listen to all year long.

This and Lizzie No are my favourites for the month so far.

I fell in love with Halvorson immediately upon hearing her on A Day In The Life: Impressions Of Pepper.
Haven't listened to Lizzie yet. Sprints is far and away above everything else that I have heard this month. It may very well be in my top ten at the end of the year and if it isn't this year is something.

I had been looking forward to the PACKS album and yup, it’s great. Highly recommended for the Liz Phair (and more recently Slow Pulp, Momma, Bully) fans. In the past several years, one of my top two records of the year came out in January and this might be the one for 2024:

I can't say I dug the production much at all. I feel like I would like to see her live but the production on the album feels much more bubblegum than I expected. I'll probably give it one more go just to be sure, but I sure wasn't thrilled on my first pass...

Sarah Jarosz is out Friday, too.

Turns out Glass Beach is not a Glass Animals/Beach House collab but some weird concoction that sounds like Of Montreal through a Radiohead filter with a tendancy towards screamo metal. I don't know if I like it or not, but it is definitely an interesting listen.
