Question about sound quality - for those that have the Zamrock 1st edition, is the quality on Spotify about what we can expect from the vinyl editions? The first album by Witch sounds like a very rough needle drop.

Anyone else have the Acoustic Sounds pressing of Black Saint and the Sinner Lady on the way? Mine is supposed to arrive today, really excited for it after how great the Mingus x5 pressing was.

I am here to confirm that the Mingus x5 does indeed sound great. I bought the vital Vinyl reissue back a year or two ago and was very underwhelmed. This pressing though stands right up with the other AAA Mingus records I own. Definitely a must buy for Mingus heads or fans of this album.

Well I had the Tone Poet and even though I sold it I think the sound quality of the pressing itself was excellent. If you like the music you won't be disappointed at all.

Yeah I actually bounced off of All Seeing Eye too, which was surprising because I normally like that kind of jazz and I am pretty into Wayne Shorter.

Did you get the Speakers Corner pressing? All three Mingus I bought from that label (PE, The Clown, and Live at Antibes) wound up being amazing. Mingus is probably my favorite to knock back a few cocktails to after a rough work week. The tone poems on Pithecanthropus Erectus are so interesting...

If there is any comfort in this, I have personally found my MM pressings sounds a tad better than the Classics pressings. Does it make up for the difference in price? That's a bit harder, but I do think there is often a noticeable difference. On that note, has anyone listened to the Classics...

Is the distortion you are referring to the scratching sounds during side A? Because all you (VMP customer service) need to do is pull up Spotify to hear that they aren't supposed to be there

Exact same issue for me. All of Bring Da Ruckus was full of a scratchy noise, then it stopped and came back every once in a while. Going to take a video and request another copy tomorrow. I think I'm done getting anything from a track aside from Classics. I can't remember the last perfect copy...

Classics is consistently great. I don't think there's anything wrong with saying that while also acknowledging the fact that the rest of the tracks are primarily pressed by GZ and therefore a shit show. (I'm definitely not bitter at all about my copy of 36 Chambers being noisy as all hell)

Same, there were like 10 seconds where I was ready to risk it all, then I saw the color vinyl and GZ. Immediately closed out of the window. I don't get it, these Anthologies were great without the gimmicks and shortcuts. I love my Blue Note and Stax boxes.

I can't justify any more Anthologies as long as they keep using GZ.
