Alfredo Rodriguez is dead, but there's not a philips connection that i see through wiki or discogs. (that's a 2010 performance)

Gil Scott-Heron is dead, but there's not a philips connection that I see. Big-time poetry connection though. Doubtful re: world music classification.

I’m really looking forward to the “Additional Listening” suggestions this month. Hey, @agutierrezb , do you have any suggested playlists or primer that you would suggest for like “A Beginner’s Guide to World Music”? I know that’s an inherently silly question given the wide variety of styles, genres, countries, and traditions that are encapsulated by the term World Music. Nevertheless, I am definitely open to a more guided exploration vs. my clumsy googling efforts

This one made my list until I realized that he died in 2005 and that there is another Alfredo Rodriguez. Guess they linked wrong.

I wish I had the knowledge to do something like that, but I don't think I do. I can (and will) suggest artists and records in the specific genre I chose, but I reckon there are a bunch of knowledgeable people around here who can help with music from different regions and cultures. That would actually be a really dope idea: we should join forces and make a collective Word Music primer.

I guess La Leyenda Del Tiempo fits the clues as well as Elis. Many of the songs are written by Frederico Garcia Lorca. The same problem remains, however, it appears to only be available in a limited Spanish reissue which isn't available hardly anywhere and not for less than $50+ shipped.

I'm left feeling like we are wrong about the Montreux or Philips clue. Unless it is someone not on the wiki list. I wish it was easier to find a list of 60s and 70s world music on Philips. Discogs needs more filter options.
