Younger me would be surprised to learn that I’d someday own this album, but 90s nostalgia got the best of me these past few years
I loved this album then and now. I saw them in concert a couple years ago for a full blast of nostalgia and it blew my mind how many other people showed up just to see them as the opener.

Day 20
June 20 1969, David records the song Space Oddity. It only reached #5 in the UK charts in 1969, but went to #1 in the UK when re-released in 1975.
Play a song or album that got a “2nd life”

The La's - "There She Goes"

This is a song that is perhaps better known for covers (by Sixpence None the Richer and the Boo Radleys), but hopefully those later versions helped people find the original.

Day 21
Nicholas Roeg directed David in his first movie, The Man Who Fell To Earth, in 1975, but did not want David to record the soundtrack.
Play a soundtrack or a song featured in a movie

Florence + the Machine - Lungs

"The Dog Days Are Over" is used to buoyant effect in the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

Day 22
Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Long-haired Men - founded by David in 1964 as a joke to get some publicity.
Play something long or hairy or both

My Morning Jacket - My Morning Jacket

I just found this on clearance for 8 bucks a few hours ago, and I think it fits- not only do band members have long hair and big beards, the music sounds like it was made by people with long hair and big beards.

Day 25
June 25, 2004 - Last performance of the Reality tour and last full Bowie concert ever, retiring completely from live performing in 2006.
Play something that is “last”

This may be low hanging fruit, but sometimes the obvious choice is the best choice. There's arguably no better epitaph than Blackstar...

David Bowie - Blackstar

Somehow, I've never stumbled upon this till tonight. Jesus, what a beautiful interpretation...

Day 16
June 16, 1962 - David Jones’ first live performance, playing saxophone with the Konrads
Play a “first”

Rony "O" and Starlight "Break Down ! " - It's Canada's FIRST Rap Record AND it's RON NELSON...and when I bought it the seller added AND it's TERRIBLE!! He was not wrong! An absolute legend in Canada for introducing people to rap music he was a radio show host not a rapper! Doing his best over the instrumental of Kurtis Blows' "The Breaks" this is something to behold! I can't describe Ron Nelson and what he did for Canadian rap music better than wikipedia so here you go:

Day 23
Teenage Wildlife from Scary Monsters was seen as a put down of the many Bowie wannabies and “new wave boys.” But it is also directed to a younger self or younger sibling.

Willie Nelson "The Troublemaker" (1976 CBS; 2018 club reissue)
Younger me would be surprised that I would eventually come to enjoy any form of Country music.

Jessie Ware - That! Feels Good

High school me wasn't much into pop or disco sounds, sadly.
