Record Store Day 2023

I mean I also bought it. But then I’m both crazy and went to my little RSD secret store that the rest of Dublin seems to have dismissed as being a chain, which it is, but this is such a small country that even our chain stores are indies lol.
Well I guess it’s also a sense of community for her fans, too. Akin to us Deadheads, we’ll show up for anything 🤣

I haven't weeded out what is essential from my list yet, so I'd say if you happen upon a Jazz Dispensary comp, I'd send you $ right away to snag one of those.

Some really cool stuff at Acme that came in all from one guys collection. 80s and 90s og pressings galore. Was drooling over a very pricy OG Pavement full discography including EPs. And OG The Cure s/t and Wild Mood Swings. I'm just happy he was able to get the shop back in business for the weekend, and a lot of people showed out for him yesterday.
Gotchu on the Jazz Dispensary comp. (They had like 10 of em when I left). DM me later and we'll sort things out. ✌️

Longest line I’ve seen at my local since pre-COVID. And that’s with two new stores opening since then. I posted up a touch before 7 and was easily double-back from my usual slot.

Really odd mix. A few people for TS but not a ton - really weird mixed crowd. Also this year my store only got 1 copy of every title the ordered with a handful of exceptions (20 TS for example) but even the PJ they only got 4. Isbell/Shires - 4.

This list of stock they got looked like this:

Hard to say how difficult TS will be to get yet. The place I went had 150 in stock. And there were still two other shops who also had at least 70-80 copies each. The one I went to gave out numbers in line if you wanted it, and let you go in first if that's all you wanted (they kept them behind the counter). I'd say maybe 30-40 people in total including me bought a copy before I left? And yet there are already listening for over $100.

Those are some pretty big inventory numbers. It baffles me how allocation works. For example, My local shop ordered 20 copies but got 5.

A lot of the shops around here only got but just a few.
