Who says we're interested in fairness?

Was it fair when U2 foisted their shit-post "Song of Innocence" on me?

Is it fair that they are going to charge $300+ for the Achtung Baby shows in Vegas without Larry Mullen Jr.?

Was it fair when Bono foisted Macphisto on us during Zoo TV tour when all we really wanted was Bono and the boys having fun on stage with some of their best work to date?

Hey - I just want to take a minute to publicly say THANK YOU to @Crabbers...and this whole community really.

I missed out on a Elliot Smith pre-order that I coveted because of how deep my fandom for the artist and that particular record runs. @Crabbers had snagged one - he says - as a "just in case someone on the forum needed one". He was selfless enough to pass that along to me - at cost. Its already selling for $70 on Discogs and he could have made a profit or bolstered his own collection with a nice press.

In 2023 its unusual to come across that kind of generosity and goodwill.

@Crabbers did me a solid and I owe him one - but I find that this kind of gesture is not limited to him.

I bust a lot of balls around here - so when I'm graced with the unique sense of community that N&G fosters and sends out into the world - Its incumbent on me to acknowledge that.

Thank you @Crabbers and thank you to the rest of you here as well: You all make feeding this ridiculous obsession of mine - a joy.

I've seen (and been the grateful recipient of) the same attitude from others, which in turn has led me to try to be as kind in turn. It really does foster a sense of community and good will.

This is the "toxic" community that Vinyl Junky guy was referring to and the previous forum didn't feel was worth saving.

Even though he's never on here anymore, I was actually on the phone talking to Emery about this sort of stuff last night. Most other spaces on the internet aren't so well intentioned or positive.
