Fresh Grabs

Yeah! Stoked to finally have the first couple of these. Everything I picked up, except the Silver Mt. Zion 12", I've either streamed or played mp3/flac files of pretty extensively over the past few years.

Part of me figures I should have just gone all the way and gotten the other 2 Matana, the 2 Godspeed I still need and the 3 Silver Mt. Zion I don't have yet - but that bundle also gives me something I can look forward to later in the year when I've fully recovered from my November/December shenanigans!

Picked up a bunch of fun sub 5 dollar goodies today thrifting (LZ2, Wilson Pickett GH, Blue Bash, a disc only King of the Delta Blues) but I found this thing and it’s gotta be one of the most cursed things in my house. Jeez. I can’t resist the oddities...

Hey, how’s that Sticky Fingers pressing? I’ve been eying a few copies on Discogs and ebay
I think it's quite good personally but I'm fully willing to admit that I have never heard another copy on vinyl. It's shows the flaws of the original recordings but it seems pretty accurate and it's got some low end. There are definitely others here with more experience with pressings of that one but I like it.

The complaint about the MoFi Stones is that they largely sound too “clean” for what are meant to be gritty Stones recordings. I personally like the two Stones MoFis I have: Sticky Fingers and Some Girls

That’d perturb me for sure. Same reason the whole concept of a MoFi Nevermind doesn’t quite compute!

The Japanese OG of Some Girls is still for my money one of the biggest audiophile bargains out there.
