September 2022 Vinyl Spin Challenge - 'Cause you can't, you won't, and you don't stop!

Day 27: “Because I’m back with a bang boogie oogie oogie, Strawberry Letter 23 like Shuggie. Oh my god, just look at me, Grandpa been rappin’ since ‘83”

I had a couple of '83 albums lined up for my collection playthrough on the What's Spinning thread, but they lacked the requisite boogie. Going with an album that fully embraces this with cuts like Boogieman Sam, Plastic Boogie, and Cyboogie.

Day 28: “Me and Dawn in the shack and we got it goin’ on, Quincy’s in the hot tub like its ‘73”

Jack White "Fear The Dawn" (2022 Third Man Records)
Other than the title mentioning Dawn, the session musician playing electric piano and synths is named Quincy McCrary.

Day 29: “I burn the competition like a flame thrower, my rhymes age like wine as I get older. I’m getting bolder, competition is waning, I got the ball and I see the lane in.”

Orgone "Lost Knights" (2022 3 Palms Records)
Includes the song "Burn" as well as "Crusader" which could invoke competition. Also, I'd happily go bowling while this is playing. Nobody fucks with the Turbo.

The Beastie Boys last show was headlining Bonnaroo in 2009. From the videos i've seen it looked like a celebratory, triumphant show. They definitely saw the lane in. And the last song they played that night was Sabotage.

When I read the line about the lane and the ball I instantly thought basketball. And when I think of bands and basketball I automatically think Pearl Jam, who previously went by the name Mookie Blaylock after the NBA player. They also named the album Ten after his jersey number.
