Fresh Grabs

got my box from De Rap Winkel yesterday

really excited about the Daniel Casimir, i only checked this out because of the artwork, samples did sound so great and having Moses Boyd, Rosie Turton and others on there , sold me on this one.

the Javi Darko is an interesting one, as i had never heard of him until they announced the release. all of those tracks got like a maximum of 200 plays each on youtube. that album is so dark and emotional, reminds me of Movies for the Blind or Hells WInter by Cage. had to go with the more expensive version as i didnt want the clear wax in this case.

there are still a few copies left at derapwinkel.nl

Joining the AP SACDs of DSOTM & WYWH, is - perhaps my favorite PF album - the newly released AP SACD of Animals.

Listening straight from SACD player into headphones and it sounds really good.

The remix is pretty good imo, the bass lines really pop , there’s a bass bit in Pigs (3 diff ones) where it sounds like a small earthquakes going on ...

Harry Beckett - Harry Beckett's Warm Smiles (RCA Victor, 1971 First Pressing)
Phil Seamen - Phil On Drums (77 Records, 1974 First Pressing)
Mu Session - Live at Mu 22nd of April 2022 (Ill Considered Music, 2022 First Numbered White Label Pressing)
The Running Man - S/T (RCA, 2022 Sommer Pressing)

Some new and old British jazz. The Harry Beckett was my star find, a fantastic album and this is the first vinyl pressing I have ever seen for sale. The Phil Seaman is another rarity on a super low-run label. The Running Man reissue was something I posted over on the Jazz thread a while back and im so glad to have managed to get a copy. Features guitarist Ray Russell as lead with Harry Beckett making an appearance. Finally, a numbered white label release of a live session from Ill Considered's Leon Brichard and Idris Rahman.

1978 US Terre Haute pressing (but closest Cogs match is the Dual credited listing). I’ve been looking for a really nice OG of Rush - Hemispheres for a long time. Lots of copies on Cogs but not a lot of NM ones I trusted. When Plaidroom put this up Used - Sealed Thursday I grabbed it.

Cover in super nice shape. Tiny amt of corner wear and a just a start of ring wear under shrink. Had to check matrix so…..I cut it open pronto to clean and check dead wax. Had that 40+ year old musty smell. :)

Got Vinyl cleaned and ready to rock later this week.
