Yeah, same. Sneaky fuckers. Couple drops in the spindle hole?

Yeah I usually put 5 in the hole and rub on into the lower part of the spindle with a tissue. Whilst it’s absurdly expensive for what it is a bottle does last 4 or 5 years of yearly top up.

Agreed but my overactive technical paranoia would never let me hear the end of it. My sanity is worth more than $35.
Understand that bearing oil for a turntable is a low wear application. Even automobile engine oil would work fine in this application; the pressures, temperatures and velocities are pretty low. I like the super lube for the applicator more than for the specific oil formulation.

Yeah I guess my only real concern is that whatever the Pro Ject oil that's already in there is, mixes with the new oil and gets viscous for whatever reason that is far beyond my comprehension level of basic chemistry.

I always swab out my old oil with a long-handle cotton swab before putting in new oil. Those swabs are cheap on Amazon, too.

Better break out the microscope and run some tests firsts.
I had an internship in college where I ran oil sample testing for gearboxes in an industrial plant. I would collect sump samples and send them to a laboratory where they actually did look at the oil samples under a microscope to determine particle size and composition. It was a preventative maintenance thing.

Not the most exciting part of my internship but I learned some things, like a turntable bearing is really nothing to worry about being super selective with oil. Big thing to remember is that a well bearing needs oil and an inverted bearing needs grease.

@Joe Mac got an email 📧 regarding the MX-VNYL and the black finish as an ETA of April showing but the silver finish is in stock now and could ship as early as tomorrow...decisions decisions 🤔

I like the silver finish, but then I like silver finishes in general. It’s not a shiny finish it’s more a Matte brushed one, but I’m sure you could tell that from the photos. Both colours look good tbh. If I was in your shoes I’d just get the silver tomorrow but it all depends on whether you’d be happy with how that looks or if it’d bother you!
