So someone just posted over on /r/hiphopvinyl that the album isn't that different at all (Bandana that is) .. s/he said they added or changed some skits and that's about it? If so, move me back to disappoint on this one.

Because the album is so new Im sure the subtle changes would largely go missed.
It was my understanding it was just extended verses maybe and slightly altered beats.. not a redo but more like a 10% or so change.

I already spent the dough...so I'm going to just pretend I notice subtle differences throughout and enjoy owning two copies.
Got my replacement Chris Crack cover and Lukah 'Chickenwire' from Fxck Rxp today so that's positive

If anything that alt version will probably end up $$$$$$ high af on discogs.
So its not like we wasted our money if we dont like it. Just a waiting game to get max returns lol
literally just came here to post that while I still hope to listen to it tonight, I did spot check a few songs on side A just now and it sounded exactly the same. the only thing I think I noticed was a different skit at the beginning of Flat Tummy Tea

Despite what those other jabronis said, I find this to be very disappointing. I feel like they waaaaaaaaaay oversold the 'director's cut' aspect of it if it's literally just skits changed.
listening to it now. it could be that I'm just not familiar enough with the "retail" version but while the intro skit was different it sounds pretty much the same so far. so yeah, the idea that this is any different musically could be completely wrong.
that said, this album continues to grow on me.

Oh, I really like the album a lot. I just am feeling like a bit of a sucka for way overpaying for a couple different skits and a different cover.
I was honestly hoping for a bunch of different beats but I guess I set myself up for failure on this one?

yeah, you have every right to be pissed. I will say this, a little over halfway through and I definitely prefer this version, but no way did it need to be released/sold the way it was. I may have been foolish to expect something different but the thought of getting a remix album along with the actual album made getting this "deluxe" version a no-brainer, but this is not what I wanted or expected.On the brightside, at least you didn't get hit with the dumb international shipping. This Madlib mix news is a bit disappointing. I wasn't expecting that the songs would be remixed but that they may be less edited or with some different production. I'm not going to be too bothered I spent extra money on it, but for $35 I was hoping for something more.

I think if the two Bandana are so similar it would have been better to offer the Rappcatts version on it's own..
edit: as far as I know this was the only variant available and I was excited enough for the album that I didn't hesitate to grab one
