Soul Step Announces SSR-083!

Soul Step Records continue their mission to bring the best independent music on vinyl for ears to discover with yet another release on the vinyl format. SSR-083 sees Soul Step Records partnering with Cincinnati favorites In The Pines for another LP release!

In The Pines, who you have heard previously on Soul Step Records with their release “Slow Blink,” return with a brand new LP and bringing a new sound. The Psych Fuzz of the previous release is replaced with a hazy indie folk sound with “Impossible Daze.”

Many of their fans have embraced this sound from the digital singles “Bird Song,” “Brother,” and “I Don’t Mind.” These tracks plus Eight more grace the LP, “Impossible Daze.” It’s for fans of Dr. Dog, Wilco, and Kurt Vile. Intricate acoustic driven guitar work with the right amount of fuzz alongside grooving mid-tempo rhythms. In The Pines creates a soundtrack that is perfect for driving those lonesome back roads while you clear your mind. The layers built into these songs makes this album a great one to revisit time and time again to discover something new in the grooves.

Soul Step Records will be releasing the LP “Impossible Daze” by In The Pines to Soul Step Subscribers on Friday, January 28th.
The general public sale will begin on Monday, January 31st. The digital singles are online to stream, and the full album will be available on your favorite streaming service on Friday, January 28th.

I know! Sorry, I forgot to tag you 😅

All good. Fortunately I check these threads compulsively! 🤣

Might not have ordered the two books about Manic Street Preachers' The Holy Bible (paging @Joe Mac have you read either of them?) that I did last night had I known this was imminent, but here we are - and here's extra hoping today's job interview goes well! ;)

I have read a good few biographies of the band that had focuses on the period of Geneeation Terrorists through to Richey’s disappearance/suicide in 1995. When I was 16/17 I hoovered that stuff up.

A name to focus on is Simon Price. He’s a respected UK journalist who is an huge fan of the band and has written multiple books on them. I’ve also been intending to buy and read a book written about Richey by his sister Rachel about him, his time in the band, his disappearance and the impact it had on the family.

@trickyseven I think you were looking for this the other day!

For anyone who enjoyed Bruit≤ 's debut album from last year, The Machine Is Burning And Now Everyone Knows It Could Happen Again, they finally have it available for vinyl pre-order later today (along with some other merch).

Thank you very much. First vinyl purchase I have made since the Rough Trade sale early this month.

I definitely eyed up a couple of those and will keep them on my list. I went looking for the 33 1/3 book and found another that had three scholars writing about the album from different lenses. The latter was dirt ass cheap, so if it's no good I won't be so put out.
