The football thread RenegadeMonster is looking for: NFL talk

Actually the Niners were terrible in the late 70's while the Cowboys were dominating and knocking the Cowboys off in the NFC Championship game in 1981 started them on their run. To me they will always be our biggest rival while more recent fans might say it's the Seahawks or Packers.
Ah, nice I didn’t realize there was a bit of a transitional rivalry between the two from the 70s to 80s it makes sense though it seems like the Cowboy’s have a rivalry with a bunch of teams (The 49ers, Steelers, Packers, and the entire NFC East).

Go Chargers🤦🏻‍♂

Go Chargers🤦🏻‍♂

To be fair, the Raiders weren’t lined up in a typical kneel down formation before the timeout. I think they were going to run on that 3rd down regardless. If they got stuffed, they probably would’ve let the clock run out for the tie instead of taking a 55+ yard field goal. But they got 10 yards on that run after the timeout, so a 47 yard field goal attempt was lower risk and better for optics.

One of the weirdest and most fascinating situations I’ve seen in a football game.

It definitely looked that way but I'm not sure why the Raiders would have played for the tie when that would have set up a game vs the Chiefs and with the win they now play the Bengals.

That was my take. I think the Raiders were happy or at least okay with the tie but a win is just a truly better playoff spot for them (they get to play Cincy instead of KC, the latter of whom wrecked them twice this year, and they get the 5 seed so more chances for a home game if games go weird). It was probably more the Chargers not stopping the run than the timeout, but the timeout may have spooked them into trying to get the first down, and then that put them in the right spot.

I get the timeout from LAC's perspective - see the formation to stop the run - but it does seem like an unforced error. Like...the Raiders are gonna have another call there.

Bears and Vikes fired their coaches. And if Rodgers leaves GB that means The Lions are going to be in the
aw never mind.
The Lions took care of The Packers JV squad yesterday and they should be able to easily secure the top QB in the draft if they desire. Goff isn’t the answer but he would be a good enough placeholder for whomever they select if they go that route.

Harbaugh is the big rumor but… urghhh… Stephen Ross is also the biggest donor to Michigan.

And then we’re gonna trade for Deshaun Watson because everything is terrible.

I hate this team so much.
The Dolphins will never rise back up to greatness until they ditch the terrible clip art logo they have now and return back to one of the best logos in all of professional sports.

THIS GUY GETS IT!
Seriously, I hated this 90s trend (which the Fins were still like a decade late to) The Broncos and Patriots are guilty of this too. The main difference with those two organizations is they actually won Super Bowls after switching to their terrible inferior logos. The Dolphins have no excuse.
