N&G Secret Santa - 21

Hey friends, I did not participate in secret santa this year but opened a box of records today I didn't order nor was expecting. I just wanted to make sure some wires didn't get crossed and it was sent to me by accident. So if anyone ordered from Record Mule in Monterey CA please pm me so we can sort this out!

Really glad to hear you like them! I spent a bit of time going through your posts and wantlist to choose a couple. I think you saw Perfume Genius live recently (which is a musician that I am unfamiliar with) and decided to pair with Bon Iver (whose music I love)!

It wasn't me, but that's my local! (Siren Records Monterey, but they go by Record Mule on discogs).

Love them! Bon Iver is a long, long-overdue addition to my collection. And I’m a huge Perfume Genuis fan, but didn’t have this one.

ok, picked up a d12 shift tomorrow so i'm opening my secret santa gift today instead of tomorrow. let's see what's in the booooox

quite the haul here from my man @CAPacelli.

nothing here i've heard before save for the jimmy cliff, which really was a sorely missing piece in my collection and i'm really glad to add this to my shelves finally, and the greatest pop song of all time, 'easy lover'.

jimmy cliff - the harder they come
jd mcpherson - socks
v/a - favorite friend records presents: save our wicked lady (this is a comp put out to help support a nyc live music club to remain open- a cause i can easily get behind)
philips bailey and collins - 'easy lover' 7"
some days are darker - 'wolves' 7"

odds & sods include a few download codes, a cassette decal, and an issue of the alt citizen 'zine.

really looking forward to sitting down with all of these and taking it in. i love secret santa in part for the opportunity to see/hear things i've not been exposed to and that are meaningful in some way to the santa. i know for me, personally, every year of this has been really good to me. i'm thankful our community is so kind and generous.

Perfect. I love Van Morrison, but I’ve never listened to this album. I’m really excited to give it a spin.

Stevie Wonder - talking book

I’ve heard the singles, but not the deep cuts. I love songs in the key of life, but I haven’t listened to any other of his albums. This fills a major gap in my collection. My wife screamed when she saw this one, so I know she’s excited too.

Wild flag - self titled

I’ve never heard anything from this album, but I really enjoy Sleater-Kinney. I’m not sure how this never showed up on my radar, but I’m very excited to listen to this.

I had always kinda liked a few Fruit Bats tracks, but ever since Bonny Light Horseman I’ve been coming around to more of a true appreciation for Eric Johnson’s catalog. I knew this album had come out but again failed to dig into it (a recurring theme of the last year or so for me). Another welcome addition to my collection. Cheers, Santa Rip!
