Just got my first 'off-season" Kapp'n trip, a summer island with the shells. Trying to catch all the fish I can to build up the recipes.
I have wheat, sugar, tomatoes, carrots, potatoes--and obviously pumpkins--growing on my island right now. Should be able to make flour tomorrow, though I'm not a big fan of eating in the game. My daughter, however, loves eating in the game, then using the bathroom. It's probably her favorite part of animal crossing. "That takes care of that!" and cue hysterical laughter.

I'll let you know. Since I'm only missing wheat, I think I can wait a little longer to see if I find it on my own.

So I made the decision to start playing this again after 11 months. Amazed to see all my old friends still there - I guess they don't leave on their own? Also, way less weeds than I expected. I had almost 2mil bells saved up, looks like a good chunk of that's going to go to the house storage upgrade and the co-op stuff. Looking forward to getting Brewster on my island.

This reminds me of my wife, who out of nowhere last week told Blathers to "Get bent!" as she left the museum and now she's said it every time since. And she laughs hysterically.

I have to remember that I bought some this week for the first time in awhile. Daisy Mae will send you some exclusive cooking recipes the next day after buying turnips so I had to get some.

That's good to know! I've got plenty of bells to burn currently, so I haven't been buying turnips, but.
On a related note, since getting Redd in the co-op last week, I've almost doubled my art collection from the 6+ months I played it previously.

The first 4 days all had something new that I didn't have. The last 3 have had the same two fakes every day. That being said, I only ever got a handful of real ones on the rare occasion when Redd would actually stop by the island, and he often had a lot of duplicates, so my collection is tiny.

I need to go through what I have and see what real pieces I have in my storage as extras and offer them up on here. I believe I have a handful of extras that I just keep getting over and over again instead of the stuff I still need. and I'm gonna banish Redd from my island if he doesn't stop trying to sell me more Quaint Paintings. I feel like every time I get a real piece as an option, it's that damn Vermeer.

That's good. My wife and I share an island so our art collection is probably 80% complete. Having said that, Redd on Harvs island hasn't yet had anything we actually need.

I’m just acquiring stuff, randomly, with no plans for what to do with it.
Everyone building elaborate buildings and decors and I’m out here wondering how I managed to cover every square foot of my entire island in trees and flowers while my house looks like alternately a dorm room/crackhouse/episode of hoarders.
Yeah, this. It's not like I struggle with the literal mechanics, but I have a couple seasonal recipes each season, a lot--but not all--of the various museum creatures. My island is very unplanned natural. And now what the hell am I supposed to do with all this food?

Everybody plays the game a little different. It's always important to me to get all the bugs/fish/fossils/art and donate them to the museum. I also don't let a villager move out without getting their photo first. As for decorating, that's more of my wife's thing but like the museum items I'm a completionist so I like to acquire one of everything (furniture, clothing, etc) even if they just go into storage.
