Definitive Audiophile pressings

Is this the Rhino one that just came out a few months back. Grabbed it on a flyer and I am happy with it. Didn't expect much but was also inexpensive so overall I am happy with it.
Not sure Jamie, anyone else know ? I see there is also a ORG/Grundman/Pall 180G cut of this out there for $30. Anyone compared them ?

PS @MikeH There is a review there on that discogs link that says this KG mono sounds better than the Org.

UPDATE: I've ordered the mono KG, will report back next week when it arrives.

based purely on the discogs reviews (which I know are not always good) seems the ORG one doesn't have great reviews while the KG does. Also KG is in mono while the ORG is stereo if that matters to you.

MikeH: 8.5 style points for the conversion to boomboom.
jamieanderson1968: 9.5 style points for separating Boom Boom into two words, capitalizing the nickname and adding a "boom" emoji. 0.5 deduction for missing the opportunity of using two "boom" emojis.

Pretty impressed with the ROG pressing of Curtis. The yellow 2xLP seems to be available still from their website. I ordered mine about a month ago and got the yellow but only just received it. They seem slow to ship.

Also gotta say I keep seeing J Powell’s name in deadwax lately and I’m a fan. Don’t think he’s in the same tier as BoomBoom/RKS/BG but he’s getting up there.

Oh lord, I have started a new "life project": Purchase of one MoFi or other analogue pressing each month, to coincide with payday...

In Norwegian we have the term "lønningspils" (payday beer), my equivalent will be "lønnings-MoFi".

For full disclosure, first month is now and I bought two, because one was actually discounted:

Marshall Crenshaw - S/T
Elvis Costello - Imperial Bedroom

Will check this thread and from now on follow it a bit closer

Well, so both of these were not to be found by the retailer...

So, I did a Discogs instead and got the 1995 MoFi pressing of Todd Rundgren's Something/Anything.

This is good information. I held off because of the digital source (well, per Hoofy's site). Did you by chance have an original or other analog copy to compare it to? It's tough to find a clean copy at least in my neck of the woods.

I think the digital masters of this one are pretty good. I have the Bellman mixed Curtis boxset and from what I recall it sounds quite good. Obviously different master here but probably working from the same source to some degree.

Some other Jeff Powell stuff in my collection I like (not AAA except a few, but all well done):

Big Star "#1 record" and "Radio City" (craft reissues)
John & Yoko "Double Fantasy" (2015 Optimal press)
Margo Price "That's How Rumors Get Started" (2020)
Morphine "Yes" and "Good" (2018 ROG, 2020 ROG)
The Cher & Luna ROGs are great too.

Let me know how this one sounds! I was eyeing it for a bit (was also looking at the RTI/Rhino pressing).

Many thanks for this. I've been on the fence but maybe it's time to jump. Appreciate it.

Poor Bellers getting snubbed by Mike! I generally prefer his pressings to the other 3 too…
