SPIN THEM I NEED TO KNOWWWWWWWWWWu and PE should have absolutely been at the top of my "to spin before putting away" pile of recently acquired albums. As it stands,
Albums spun today before Wu and PE: 4
Albums to spin before I even consider it: 5
These issues are really killing my enjoyment of the whole VMP experience. Could be fine, could be crap but I dread to find out.
I am the opposite, anymore the second I get VMP package I am dropping whatever I am doing; checking for seam splits or smashed corners (usually a 50/50 chance) then spinning it to make sure it isn’t warped AF (maybe a 30% chance that it is), then skipping to any problem areas as reported online to see if my pressing is potentially flawed. Really I just like to get my replacement request in as soon as I can in case that I might need more than one and they might run out.Wu and PE should have absolutely been at the top of my "to spin before putting away" pile of recently acquired albums. and this is why I stopped subscribing awhile ago. It wasn’t enjoyable to get packages from VMP anymore because I worried they would be damaged. Then I’d have to try to rush to get replacements before they ran out of stock. There were a few times where my delivery was later than usual and I got damaged records and wasn’t able to get replacements.I am the opposite, anymore the second I get VMP package I am dropping whatever I am doing; checking for seam splits or smashed corners (usually a 50/50 chance) then spinning it to make sure it isn’t warped AF (maybe a 30% chance that it is), then skipping to any problem areas as reported online to see if my pressing is potentially flawed. RTI and others are way more isolated incidents though. It’s more of a surprise now if a GZ pressing has no issues than if it has something wrong with it. GZ was already iffy pre-pandemic and it’s just gotten worse.I don't think the blame is EXCLUSIVELY on Gz.. the think it that vinyl is expanding at a high rate and so more and more companies are wanting more and more pressings, there is already a lot of issues involving delays and not to mention the situation of doing all these pressings while having only 1 small supplier of lacquers, DMM cutters slowly dying with no one else knowing how to make one (Possibly same for lacquers cutters) and the huge growth for vmp (like how many members do they have right now.. 50,000?), Thus the need to make the deadline for THAT many pressings with all the modern flaws.... QC is just bad
Even RTI is having issues based on destroyers rubies
Delays, sure that's an industry wide problem right now. But having the same exact pressing issue from the same plant for 3 - 4 consecutive months sounds reasonable to point some fingers at the specific pressing plant.I don't think the blame is EXCLUSIVELY on Gz.. the think it that vinyl is expanding at a high rate and so more and more companies are wanting more and more pressings, there is already a lot of issues involving delays and not to mention the situation of doing all these pressings while having only 1 small supplier of lacquers, DMM cutters slowly dying with no one else knowing how to make one (Possibly same for lacquers cutters) and the huge growth for vmp (like how many members do they have right now.. 50,000?), Thus the need to make the deadline for THAT many pressings with all the modern flaws.... Side B. Noise. Not so bad after about 30 seconds.Sigh. You asked for it:
Immediately hit with noise on Wu side a, right channel. Lasts for about a minute. Shame as it sounds miles better than the og otherwise.
Next up PE! DOOO IIIITAs it stands, essential has been 0/3 this stretch and they need to stop the bleeding here because this is not sustainable at these prices.
How much pain do you think I'm willing to put myself through in a day?Next up PE! DOOO IIIIT

That's good, it means the horrific crackle and fuzz won't be as loud on those sides.Side c sounds good. I swear it's quieter though.
Jokes aside, I resubbed based on the strength of this three month stretch and I don't think I'll go through it again. I'm interested in Clipse but given how pristine Lord Willin' was I don't think HHNF will even be close with the decline in quality lately. Gonna save my money. That's good, it means the horrific crackle and fuzz won't be as loud on those sides.
LOGIC!
