This is another one of those albums I've been meaning for years and years to check out, so thank you @Gavaxeman for the kick in the pants to do so!
 
Great album though Gav and really good pick! The first AoTM that I already own myself!

That said I'd totally have deaf eared the guess until the clues kept being linked to the album to the point that it became an avalanche of certainty!

Fabulous album that I just ordered, have had it on CD since '95 and needed a reason to add another TF LP to my collection!

...but beware, this is not very easy to get in the states. Shipping can be a bit prohibitive. I went with the least expensive combination of product PLUS shipping (the 2018 pressing with the bonux 7") and it was still almost $50 USD.

I got it on Bes Vinyl shipped to Texas for $35.00, no clue on the version. always meant to give them more than a passive listen, so thanks for the pick! looking forward to your thoughts and more shenanigans.

To be fair:

1. I like bonus things
2. I did find less expensive copies, but many were from Plain which can be a very hit or miss company

The EU pressing from 2018 is fine to my ears , part of their vinyl reissue campaign, early copies come with a bonus 7 inch but then they released versions without which are the same- the Sony We are Vinyl issue seems to be the one to get according to discogs

The original CD (!) is also beautifully produced and mastered so if you see that cheap it’s worth checking out ....

Big football day in the U.K. today so I’ve got a few chores to do before sofa and beers beckon ..

My recollections should arrive tomo with the haze of the glorious summer of 1996 tied in when I played this album to death
 
It was a cold snowy day at the start of 1996, all was quiet as a much younger Gavaxeman awoke to head off to his local record stores annual CD sale , a wondrous event where bargains could be had , CD’s for only £5 , these were things dreams were made of....



Before he donned his winter mittens , his thoughts turned to the soundtrack for this quest ......

The postmaster general had kindly sent Britannia records latest offering ....a club he had foolishly joined , enticed by 5 CD’s for a whole pound ...”ne’er again shall I fall for such trinkets.” he muttered to himself , as his newly acquired bachelor pad was a solitary place

Out of the package came a shiny jewel case .....Grand Prix ... by The Teenage Fanclub ....



And thus our story begins ...encompassing the land of Snobs, the Gallagher’s two , Gazza and Shearer before heading into darkness and wastelands of les Spicy Girlies ....



Out of the door our hero did head to his newly improved audio car transport...snow be damned ..it was music he needed , at knocked down prices ..into the slot went the CD ....
