Pre-Order Thread

Anyone scoured the internet looking for cool obscure stuff? This is one of those albums. I literally just found out about it. I plan on purchasing it probably...

From what I have read, it was an album done by some UK teens in the late 90's and then released in 2000. They made close to 50 cd copies and sent them off to labels and friends and family. (it's one of those types of albums).

A used copy of the cd was found in a thrift store and it had really bad disc-rot (I'm afraid all my old PS1 games will become like that some day...). The buyer uploaded the album and shared it on 4chan and it started to grab a cult following. After some searching around someone was able to find a member of the band and they were able to acquire a better version of the album and it was then uploaded to YouTube. And now years later it's been released digitally and also pressed on vinyl and cassette.

To describe the album I'd say it sounds like Radiohead crossed with dashes of Sweet Trip and some Lo-Fi Shoegaze tinges. It's really unique I'd say. Very cool stuff.

What was considered lost media has been found!

(if you choose to listen to the album start with the first track "Deathmetal")

Aren't there some big woven blanket fans on this forum? ;)

If you ever go into someone's home and they have this blanket...don't think. Don't try to rationalize. Ask no questions. Just about face, and get the country funk out of there. If you stay you WILL be made into a lampshade.

F*%k! I already bought one hoping woman would enter my house thinking I was a fiery loving passionate funky man when they saw it draped over my couch. Misread the room again, this was going to replace my Texas Chainsaw Massacre fleece which I think might give off similar vibes 👀

Will do. I've been poking around his Facebook, it looks like this will eventually be the first four Boingo albums, and in fact apparently has Nothing to Fear test-pressings in hand already - which in truth I'm more excited about than even Only a Lad!

What I really, really, really want...but I think the length/sequencing of the songs would be a nightmare:

They also have 15 signed Test Pressings for $35 a piece still available (I just purchased one).

This is the second color release they've done for this album. I bought the first one which was green. It became expensive later on so here's another chance coming soon.

Oh wow, didn't realize my green copy got so expensive! I'm not used to people other than me wanting this album lol
