Definitive Audiophile pressings

Well, on a slightly happier note the Speakers Corner A Shape Of Jazz To Come is spectacular. I think this beats out my ORG 2 LP 45 and it definitely doesn't have the no fill that both of my ORG copies were riddled with. Highly highly recommend. Also it's a Boom Boom jam.

The Warp did an excellent job with the new Reissue/Remaster of Squarepusher’s debut album Feed Me Weird Things. The whole release is done really well. Both the remaster and pressing are top notch. Booming bass on flat mostly static free wax. Also, the booklet that comes with it is brilliant too. Some interesting info from Tom Jenkins about the project plus he runs through the equipment he used to create each track. It’s 2xLPs and a 10” for around $35. A Drum & Bass/IDM Classic done right.

Warp did a good job on the Seefeel St/Fr/Sp reissue as well. Sounds great

So, I recently purchased a copy of the ORG Bad Brains reissue. It was pressed really well and came in an anti-static sleeve like this one above. My recent purchase of the new Sumburned Hand Of The Man LP also came with the same inner sleeve. Looking into the details the Bad Brains pressing was done by Furnace Record Pressing. Would it be safe to assume that all LPs with this inner are done by Furnace? Similarly to how QRP, RTI, and Gotta Groove all have their own distinct inners?

Also, I am completely unfamiliar with Furnace but both those LPs were really well done. I am curious to see what else they have pressed. Seems like a quality operation based on my seemingly limited interaction thus far.

Had to get two replacements on this one before I got a clean press I believe
Well since the noise wasn't coming from no fill I decided to play it though a couple times and clean it 3 times and while the pops haven't been totally eliminated that are much less frequent, so this is pretty good now, happy with it. But that Shape of Jazz... zowee...

Yes, these are from Furnace. The ”welding mask” is their logo.

looks like the long lost plates from the scraped AP contemporary series are going to see the light of day, BG mastered and ORP pressed. Looks like the following confirmed so far. I think they cut 25 total albums before Concord nixed the deal prior to pressing. If you haven’t heard a Roy De Nunn recording you are in for a treat. Should be a great series at what looks like tone poet and acoustic sounds series pricing.

Barney Kessel et. al. - The Poll Winners
Hampton Hawes et. al. - Four!

Is there any more info on this series? Is there a list of the 25 albums that were actually plated? Where they all plated for AP? Tbh I was just aware of way out West.

I see the 2 shown on Drift are available for ore-order on Amazon uk as well. We might start to see them getting listed on more shops and maybe even a press release

I remember Chad saying that these were coming out and I think there was even some video of BG cutting WOW. Can’t remember what other titles were mentioned, it was quite s few years ago now.Might have even been something on Analog Planet maybe ??If Chad’s involved I’m sure there’ll be some media announcement. I quite like the Furnace pressings I have. I think the VMP pressing of Ambrose Akinmusire’s latest album was pressed at Furnace.

I didn't get the VMP version of the Ambrose Akinmusire title, but I did pick up Immanuel Wilkins Omega form VMP on the back of that.

VMP say it's pressed by furnace, but the runout groove looks like RTI, it also has BG in the dead wax (not mentioned on the VMP site).

How do you identify the furnace pressings?
