Not a bad list of songs for the most part. But there's an artist on there I'm not willing to call outlaw.
Something about Chris Stapleton...and this might be hot take territory...but I find a lot of his material to be a bit sterile. He's the Leon Bridges of outlaw country. Wow, I just worked two hot takes in.

Frankly, anyone who makes traditional-sounding country music these days is an "outlaw" from the pop formula version playing on country radio these days. Chris is one of the rare few traditionalists who makes it onto modern country radio and it's not because the program managers really want to play him. At times, I'd say he's more country blues when you listen to his guitar playing. This Wal Mart compilation, despite it's corny title, is a great sampling of traditional country music and is worth having. If someone buys it versus Florida Georgia Line, I'd say they'll be happy with their purchase.
