Ah right. It's a ridiculously elaborate trifold box with the records top loading. You basically have to open the whole thing out on a flat surface to try to get the albums. I might be wrong as I've no idea where my It's Alive is but I'm sure the Ramones special eds have the same absolute tomfuckery about them

Well this set only has one LP and comes in a book-style case with the CDs, I'll probably be able to survive it with some health bar left

What you are describing sounds like the Hendrix- Maui set that had a trifold and it was different but not that bad

I've thought about picking up the Maui gig. How is it. Is it more an of interest piece or is it a good show too?

Oh it's actually a very good show- the things they did with sound engineering is amazing bc they are literally playing at the base of a mountain with wind blowing in every direction. It comes with a bluray of the album and a feature length doc of the whole affair. Those Hendrix sets are such a good value.

I got it for like 38 in the Target B2G1 sale

Yeah, it's a pretty well made and easy to access style case. I love the mono mix personally, a bit jarring the first few times if you grew up with the album but cranked loud it's become my new go to for awhile now.

Right, I was on the fence. But $68 shipped I can deal with. Honestly not much more than it would be from my local after tax is added.
 
Took a chance on the Amazon Wharehouse beatles white album with esher demos that was 45 bucks. Was listed as acceptable with heavy box damage. Came sealed and in perfect condition. Go figure...

There is another one listed now for 53 that is said to be in very good condition. Might be worth a shot!

there's always a dude on reddit that's like "i bought two things through the warehouse and both times they sent me hitler! F- would never buy from again!" but i've snagged some really nice pickups. Once I picked up Avenged Sevenfold's The Stage deluxe for 14 bucks, similar beatles things like yours etc. they do free returns so I don't see problem with taking the chance.

That's exactly why I do it. Returns are so easy, its pretty low risk. I've had successful purchases with them at least 80% of the time and the prices are amazing on some stuff.
