How can a record no one has even heard a clip or track from be highly recommended??

I have been a follower of Pharoah for around 40 years, seen him live, met him several times. Massive influence on me.

When I see hype saying it's his best in 15 years, I laugh. He hasn't recorded in 15 years, and even though his playing isn't what it used to be, he is still a great player. I will buy this.

Well, I’m just going by the artists I like for recommendations. Of course, that doesn’t mean this will be an essential record or that I’ll even like it because I haven’t heard anything but the small clip. But having Sam, Ferrell and an Orchestra doing a record sound pretty intriguing to me and I wanted to highlight that. Therefore I chose to add "highly recommended". I’m sorry if that doesn’t seem appropriate.

Yeah. Sort of a stupid concept. Pay $40 for a record, and if you re selected in the Wax Mage raffle you get the opportunity to drop another $75 on the same album. How lucky. :cautious:

It would be better if 25 lucky people that purchased the album were upgraded to the Wax Mage variant.

I'll be the first to complain of the numerous variants of their debut and it seems they like that formula, much like many, but I'll tell you what makes this appealing. The direct to acetate sounds amazing.
