No. The gel can actually be washed in hot water and put back in the box for reuse, so definitely safe.
i was just nervous because i touched the surface of it and wondered if say i ate something or whatever it will poison me or something because i dont have the box still and dunno if it has any warnings beyond the obvious "dont literally eat all of it".. and plus when i removed it from the box to clean it i didn't know how to dry it out (i found out recently you have to shake the cleaner) and thus got the bottom wet.. how its VERY easy to take out of the box instead of as sticky in there as it was before
i get paranoid when it comes to unique substances and often wonder "is this going to kill me if i touch it then use my fingers to eat" or something similar

it’s fine.
I'm pretty sure the onzow is basically the same as those sticky feet and hands and stuff that I used to get as a child out of those vending machines at the grocery store and we used to play with those things for hours and I turned out totally normal.
TOTALLY NORMAL.
NOBODY SAY OTHERWISE.
But no seriously it's non toxic you're fine.

tfw i somehow have fun listening to the grado i endlessly bash when i play an album like R.A.P music on it with the volume on the louder side...
if i end up disliking the 2M blue i might upgrade to a nagaoka for a similar sound

Ok. I know I asked this recently but I have a more specific budget of $500. Would anynof these be worthwhile upgrades at the price of will I basically be seeing diminished returns?
Current system: U-Turn with Grado Blue, Schiit Mani, Onkyo TX-8020, Elac Debut B6. Squeaky Clean RCM.
Here are some things I'm considering
Upgrade record cleaner to Pro-Ject VC-E
Upgrade amp. Haven't done a ton of research but the Cambridge AXR100 looks nice.
Upgrade Turntable. Fluance RT85 looks nice but I'm not sure if it's much of an upgrade.
Upgrade multiple components. Like a Vincent PHO-8 and 8mz stylus.
Something else?
Nothing. Save my money?

I think the Pho8/8MZ will give you the most bang for your buck if you're really looking to spend money, but let me ask, is there something you don't like about your current set up?
I ask because you're kind of in "no mans land" in a lot of respects, there's nothing really wrong with any of your components, but if your looking for an overall "better" system I would maybe save and make more meaningful jumps rather than smaller "leap-frog" moves....but that would again depend on if you have a more long term path in mind or not.

I think there are opinions I’ve read on here about Cambridge build quality, @HiFi Guy was that you, that would steer me away from them.
The fluance is a little upgrade but probably not enough of a one to justify $500 on top of the money already sunk into the U-Turn.
My three suggestions would be
(a) With a musicians friend/guitar centre coupon get the pioneer plx-1000. Reuse your Grado blue; or
(b) Assuming the grado blue is a 3. Get an 8mz sylus and either a musical fidelity lx2-lps or the new Darlington phono @HiFi Guy is testing; or
(c) if your blue is a 1 or 2 get a gold 3 cartridge and same phono stage.

Nothing particular that I don't like with the sound. I feel like sometimes when I vacuum clean I can see white streaks in the dead wax which makes me think the process may be in need of an upgrade.
The TT and amp would strictly be a features upgrade (TT with a switch to change speeds and amp with some kind of streaming capability)
Mine is a Blue3. I actually just got it less than a year ago.
Fair enough. I’d say a or b then would be what I’d be looking at in your situation with that rough budget. As @AnthonyI said it’s better to take slower bigger steps for perceptible difference rather than going up in really small increments.
Edit: for streaming take a look at a chromecast audio (android) or airport express (iOS) second hand on eBay. Both do a really good job of adding streaming to an existing amp and without breaking the bank.

This would make me lean in fixing the cleaning process before looking at gear, that in itself will actually improve things. That said, what type of solution are you cleaning with?

The Chisto from the deal a few months ago.
I need some help on a new turntable. Based on the rave reviews on this forum I purchased the Wharfedale Lintons and am loving them. They are connected to a Yamaha Cr1020 and a Uturn basic. I am having issue with the Uturn (motor is loud, it Hums more than it should). I currently have a Fluance RT85 on preorder which I have heard mainly good things, but was reading some more mixed reviews on some other forums and am starting to wonder if it is the best option. I would like to stick as close to possible to $500. I was ready more on the updated Project Carbon Evo and that seems very intriguing. I know there are a number of other tables in the price range as well. One thing I would really prefer is auto speed switch as I hate manually changing the belt on the Uturn. Other thought would be vintage. On my other system I have a Dual 1229 that I really like. Thanks in advance for any advice.

My advice is save your money to upgrade something when you’re really noticing something that’s bothering you - and trust me, it will.

The Fluance has a return policy, I’d audition it and see if it checks the boxes for you.

That's odd. I use the Chisto solution with a Record Doctor vacuum cleaner. I've cleaned hundreds of records with that combo, many from the 60s and 70s that have never been cleaned, and I've never had white streaks like you describe. Occasionally some older records will make some tiny bubbles, but a second cleaning takes care of that.
