What's The Most Valuable Record In Your Collection?

The thing with that one was, it was sitting on shelves FOREVER. But it was before people had really caught onto the Kevin Gray bandwagon. Now that the words out all his stuff is just flying. I mean I saw it numerous times, and saw Rainbo and was like "Nah." Then I read some reviews and saw it was him and I snagged it right quick.

Yeah I think the fact that it came out I’m 2016 and I got it from jpc for retail in October 2019 bears that truth out.

For me, who is not a member of the cult of deadwax and mastering engineers, it was more that i like the kinks a lot, hadn’t got around to picking any up yet, saw this really highly reviewed on here by @HiFi Guy @Lee Newman and @AnthonyI and realised that it had every album I wanted bar Lola and Muswell Hillbillies. I had to jump then given the price!

Yea...I think I just somehow missed it (and that it was KG). I've also gotten into the Kinks more recently and dove into their back catalogue. I think he's kind of the only one where if I like an album and he does a cut of it, I buy it, especially if it's affordable. I was looking through all my albums a few months back and thinking about which ones were affordable and sounded the best and more often than not, the great sounding ones were done by KG.

And now we have what should be a definitive copy of Lola with the recent anniversary edition.

I think it’s much more 2 people ageeeing to ”buy“ from each other to artificsilly inflate the valuations.
Yep this happens all the time now in vinyl. They drive up the value by selling it to each other. there’s no way somebody paid almost $1200 for a copy of Blonde.

Yeah a mixture of that and money laundering too as @wmeugene said. There doesn’t need to he a record for the PayPal transaction and as cogs itself never has sight or possession of the product it’s very hard to verify.

I love my KPG Buckley "Grace". For those that didn't know he did a pressing of that one too. Since I missed out on the 2LP 45 ORG.

I've been trying to get that too but every discogs seller I've messaged seems to be incorrectly listing the 2015 pressing on that listing which has the same barcode.

Did you get it on discogs or elsewhere?
