Greeting everyone! It’s time for The October Challenge. I wanna first off Thank @Gavaxeman for putting together last months challenge (I would like to exchange my Gav-la’s for a plastic spider ring and a Kazoo, thanks).

The "rules"

This isn't a contest or competition. You can't win and won't be eliminated.
Interpret each topic in your own way
Try to play something that hasn't been played for that day.
Catch up if you miss some days.
Don't be shy about telling stories about your selection, and yet don't feel you have to elaborate on anything you post

Day 05: Dig Them Horns
Spin an LP that predominantly features brass or woodwind instrumentation

Day 06: Major Label Debut
Spin an artist’s first album for a major recording label

Day 07: Long Live Media Mail
Spin the the most recent album delivered by your friendly postal carrier

Day 08: Paul Hogan’s Birthday
In honor of Australia’ National Treasure spin a record from the land down under.

Day 09: Soul Sister
Sister Rosetta Tharp died on this date 47 years ago. Spin something spiritual

Day 10: Live From New York It’s Saturday Night!
Spin an artist that has been featured on SNL (bonus points if you include the performance clip in your post)

Day 11: Songs about Rain ☔
It’s the beginning of the rainy season here, spin something that references rain

Day 12: Black & White
Spin an album with features black & white cover art

Day 13: Washington State of Mind
My adopted home state is a cornucopia of riches when it comes musical talent (Kenny G, anyone). Spin something that shows off Washington State’s evergreen music scene

Day 14: Dedications
Spin something and dedicate it to someone important to you

Day 15: BAM! It’s Emeril Lagasse Birthday
Sprinkle some essence on a delicious album

Day 16: Side Hustle
Spin something by an artist’s side project

Day 17: The Simpsons Saturday
Spin an album by an artist featured on TV’s longest running animated sitcom (bonus points if you include a video clip of their appearance)

Day 18: 120 Minutes
Spin something that would make Matt Pinfield proud

Day 19: I Miss Concerts
Spin an album from an artist you’ve seen and enjoyed live (bonus points if you include photos from the live show)

Day 20: Gave Good Face
Spin an album that features nice headshot on the cover.

Day 21: 8 Bit Action
Spin a Video Game soundtrack or something that sounds like it could soundtrack a video game

Day 22: That’s....interesting
Spin an album or single or EP that is a bit different (a 10”, a Picture disc, die cut, GITD, etc...)

Day 23: Record Store Find
Show off an album you discovered at your neighborhood record shop

Day 24: Oktoberfest!
Wunderbar! Spin something that pairs well with a beer. Prost! (bonus points if you show off your beer with with your record)

Day 25: Channel Orange
Spin an album that relates to the color orange in some way

Day 26: Paint It Black
Spin something that relates to the color black in some way

Day 27: Eye Doctor Appointment
In honor of my annual Eye exam spin something by a bespectacled artist

Day 28: Isn’t that novel
Spin something that features a novelty song (Halloween themed preferred but not required)

Day 29: National Cat Day 🐈
Spin something that reminds you of felines (bonus points if you include your furry friend in your post)

Day 30: Trick or Treats
Spin something that is as sweet as “fun sized” butterfingers

437645D0-7787-420A-9A67-F07718EAC663.jpegSo I’m an hour early and I’m looking for a record that has to do with Autumn and I find The Fall ( Fall Autumn same thing ) and I realize that I bought this on RSD a year ago and never opened it . My daughter hated the cover and always put it back, so it got lost in the shuffle Spinning it now I realized I’ve never gotten around to ever listening to it at all So first record of the month for me is one I never heard before.

I've had an IPA or 10 and I spy some low hanging fruit so my AARP ass will take the path of least resistance.

By the way, the path of least resistance doesn't mean it's not the best, most logical path possible...
