Pre-Order Thread

I always thought that Edward Sharpe was the most fake persona in the music business, but then FJM came along... and then (super hot take ahead) I watched the Elton John movie.

I sure wish that back in the early days of Spotify they would've just emailed me and said "hey, one day we might start pressing records that we only offer to the people who listen to the artist the most, so maybe don't switch over to Apple Music if you ever want a chance of getting one."

Negative points to Edward Sharpe for his faux hippie persona. FJM puts off a more faux hipster vibe, but I feel he still brings more to the table surrounding earnest art.

As for the Elton movie, are you saying FJM is an Elton ripoff or that Elton was fake? Or that the actor that played Elton was fake? Or that THE WHOLE INDUSTRY IS FAKE AGHHHHHHHH

Elton was fake, or at least the movie made me feel that he was. It’s different because he was tormented and psychologically abused as a child so you can sympathize with his reasons, but the result made him appear very disingenuous.

I think Elton may have over egged the family abuse too to make the film more interesting..his family have stated the way his father was portrayed was very unfair ...the Queen movie played fast and loose with facts too ...the timeline of events was all over the place to make a better theatrical story ..truth be damned and all that
