Equipment Recommendations - The Home For New System and Upgrade Advice

Also what Klipsch you using? I had some a while back but been rocking Martin Logans the last couple years. The Fortes are the speakers I plan on getting next.

Finally what resistance are you finding success with? I know the site says >470. I’ve seen users saying around 1K is nice.

I’ll hit you up in the future for a drop. I won’t be back to my system till March.

Forte IIs with Crites crossovers and Ti tweeter diaphragms. Love ‘em. I also grew up listening to a pair, so I may be biased.

I’ll have to check the resistance on the 20/20. I played with it when I first got the cart but forget what I settled on.

kvetcha's about to sell someone else on the Forte's! lol

Coming from the audio engineering community, as you can imagine there are some staunch anti-vinyl folks who get a good chuckle out of 5 and 6 figure systems extracting information from a format that rolls off at 12KHz, sourced from a 44.1/16 source, as an example. I am not one of those engineers!
"This infuriated the supervisor, so he went and got Volume 14 of the Kinsley manual. He reads to him, 'The Langstrom 7 inch wrench can be used with the Findlay sprocket.' Just then, the little apprentice leaned over and said, 'It says sprocket, not socket!' Heh heh ... ... Were the plumbers supposed to be here tonight?" - Steve Martin

Mani question: is it common to hear noises through the speakers like clicks from the turntable etc? Also, last night when the record would stop playing and spinning I’d hear this whiny noise like a tiny jet engine powering down.

@kvetcha "It's probably more accurate to say: the cart does not leave much cover for bad records."
Yeah that's a good way of putting it, same experience with the Black. Bad pressings sound bad.
this is the thing that scares me about the ortofon... i want to be able to listen to listen to records that sound not audiophile but still very pretty and textured... is the blue as badly detailed as the others

yes, yes, and a uturn orbit.. maybe i just need different headphones then these sennheiser (6XX or sundara)

A 2M Blue sounds like a great fit to me. I have pretty extensive hours with them, and it ticks off all your boxes, from what you’re describing. I’m currently using a Grado, and there are some records where I’m like, ah, the Blue would really serve this well.

Hahaha I love some of the opinions people on here have of me. I hate badly pressed vinyl, but I always get the problem fixed. Now if I hadn't known and suddenly upgraded then yes I might hate half my collection. But luckily since I started out with a pretty analytical cart right off the bat I always replaced bad pressings.

1. always gets bad or warped records
2. a hatred for Gz
3. buying expensive cables
