Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

I’m curious whether their exclusives will also see a price increase comparable to the membership price.

I know they typically go for $30ish now, but if those also go up to like $40, then even their exclusives would be out of the picture.

I went ahead and emailed them anyway. Ill see what they say. They did say we would always have that pricing and it would be nice to think that being around this long would garner a bit of loyalty...but i know better. As Dukey says "Capitalism Bad"

Yeah, I mean, you don't see a company increase their prices this much if they're doing well. It's a very, very bad sign for their future. Just a ton of really bad picks, way too much money sunk into really dumb projects like that insanely overpriced Dead box. It's just... it's a real shame, but I can't imagine they're going to survive this without making some serious changes. I know I'm definitely out when my sub's up, and I won't be getting anymore addons at these prices.
 
Man, my last post did not age well. I am in for 1 more month so I can snag Spiritualized, then moving on with my life. As others have mentioned, I can just curate monthly boxes of Analogue Production records for these prices. VMP are no AP, even if they sell some of their products in their shitty store at a heavy markup.
 
Yikes, this is hard to swallow price change. I understand prices have to go up every once in awhile but 50% across the board in one shot?

I also do not receive any email yet and have no mention of this "special one time renewal discount" on my member page.
 
You know whats a slap-in-the-face level of shadiness? The fact that in their email they state 'For the first time in over three years, the cost of a VMP add-on track will increase to $33 beginning with September Records of the Month'. They completely ignore the fact that the Primary Membership price has also increased (significantly more than the add-ons)

This is exactly what I was thinking. I'll just buy an AP press every month for these prices, get a much higher quality product.

I have to wonder if COVID is causing this-- or if it's just their consistently shitty and greedy decisions. You gotta think that Dead box is dragging them down.
 
I don’t even know what to say. This is horrible news and I’m sad to say at this point the vinyl is not worth putting money in the pockets of such a shady company. Terrible CS delays, horrible business transparency, Vinceron lmao, $40 for GZ pressings, and all this just to stack up Storfs kallax. FIGGGGGITTYYFUCKKKKKKTHAAATTTT

Hey how do you guys know how many dead boxes they sold, or are sitting on? Several people have mentioned it but I didn't know you could do a stock check on anthologies.
 
Why does the notice in the page say the main sub price is $31 but the main membership section says it’ll charge me $43 for the month? $31 I can stomach for Spiritualized, but $43 is REALLY fucking reaching. Also $33 for an add-on is a JOKE when you consider that 80% of the stuff in swaps is worth maybe $15-20 on discogs.
