Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

Yeah the delays are annoying for sure. Im in the situation where its usually cheaper for me to get a VMP exclusive from the US over ordering a copy from the next town across from me (when postage is considered). I don't really mind waiting as music isn't time-sensitive, but it does annoy me when there's constant delays which we are not told about until we ask for an update ourself.
I think it makes a lot of sense for international subscribers to be VMP members when shipping is factored in. For US customers, there are a lot of other options for most of the exclusives that VMP has. I know the pandemic is causing some delays, but VMP is constantly overselling and color pressings arrive weeks if not months after other shops.

As for the delays in monthly shipping, they are getting worse and worse. When I first signed up, I would always get my ROTM by the 12th of the month. Now I don't even get it sometimes until the next ROTM is announced.

VMP has a pretty big forum presence now. The subreddit is huge with 12k subscribers. As they have more and more issues, people are more vocal about it. I don't have a lot of faith in VMP to fix a lot of these issues any time soon.

And I'm with @Geologyst --late ROTMs are a little annoying but I'm okay waiting on them. It's the preorders coming so late after every other shop's that makes me not want to order any of their exclusives anymore. I got the Chet Baker Mr. B order from Bullmoose over a month ago (received it a few days before release day actually) and I know some VMP members haven't even gotten shipping notices yet.

I've not heard anything from they yet. As I said, I'm not fussed about getting the VMP pressing later than others but its the lack of communication from them which annoys me.

I've gotten to the point where i only order if its something I don't need on release day and the pressing color, quality, and price is better than other sources.

When i have asked/complained about delays their response is usually that I chose shipping to be done with the next ROTM. No matter what option i pick this is apparently the reason. (my fault).

I guess what I'm saying is I don't complain much because I don't let them let me down. I ordered Mr. B and still haven't gotten a shipping notice.

It does make me wonder - are the people who are vocal on these forums a vocal minority, and most of their huge subscriber base goes month to month with few issues? Or do most people who pay for this service every month just not care as much as the people in here or on Reddit?
I'm assuming you weren't asking for individual testimonials but, well, as the kids say... you only YOLO once:

I've been a member month-to-month since 2017. I've taken a few months off here and there but that's always because I didn't care for anything being offered. I've actually never had an issue with them. Some damaged products now and again but they make it right. And, yes, sometimes it takes them a week to respond to a CS ticket.

Of course, YMMV. And I'm not saying this as a defense of them against people who have legit issues in any way whatsoever. Simply stating the facts of my individual experience. With that said, I don't hold peoples' attitudes about these issues against them in any way whatsoever. They should be vocal as hell. I would be too. Just hasn't been my experience (and hope it never is)

I've been a member of VMP for years now and have had way fewer issues than a lot of people, but when I have had issues (other than the occasional warp) it tends to be sorted relatively quickly. I think its a balance of luck and who you get when you message CS.

With that being said there have obviously been a TON of doozies in the past.
There's more than one person in CS ? I'm only partially joking. Every single CS request has been answered by Tyler. He's been great by the way.

Lol did you mean to mash up mine and @Selaws post or was that an accident. Cause it's much funnier if it was some kind of accident. I think I've had like four people answer my emails over the years (used to be Pauly; get a lot of Tyler; a woman - I forget the name; and let's just say some other dude for good meausure)

In the past month I have submitted 3 tickets, each one answered (eventually) by a different person (Pauly, Tyler and Jason).

Funny picturing them in a monthly scrum meeting deciding on which reason each of them will use in replying to emails.

CS1 - You take COVID-19 as the reason for everything this month, I will go with computer glitch
CS2 - I did COVID-19 last month. Can I just not respond until the person either gives up or emails Matt?

and renewal is $119 for three months. I doubt it's a glitch, they likely increased the prices without telling anyone. I am 100% out at $40 a record.

Would be a hard sell to go from $27 a record to $39 on the 3 month plan. I am guessing glitch, but mainly because I don't see how a company could be that stupid.

Buh bye.

My responses have been from Ellie and Kelsey this year. Ellie was especially nice and accomodating once she finally responded to me.

In that case they never shipped my AOTM and then once the next month was announced, literally deleted it from my orders page and lost all record of it. Just want to highlight that these complaints aren't just that people don't want to wait a long time.
